Vladimir Putin was once again seen clutching his hands tightly at the edge of the table, reigniting speculation about the Russian leader's health and state of mind.

The Daily Star reported that a video posted on social media showed Putin grabbing the table during a meeting with the president of the federal government in Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, in Moscow yesterday.

Body language analysis expert Adrian Carter added: "It seems to me in this clip that Putin is holding on to the table for security. When we don't trust or are unsure of our stability we hold on to something as a means of security. Maybe he feels bad and this is a way to reset that gives him some security."

In the independent Russian media it was reported that the two leaders looked unhealthy during the meeting - with a swollen face Kadyrov recovering from the poisoning attempt he went through in recent weeks.

Kadyrov's hands also shook while Putin gripped the table.
