– Dozens of rescue workers from the police and mountain rescue services searched for a woman on Jochberg on Monday evening into the night and on Tuesday morning.

The 55-year-old from Berg (Starnberg district) was reported missing on Monday.

It could be assumed that she had made her way towards Jochberg.

Her car was then discovered at the hiking car park on Kesselberg.

The search began around 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening, reports Steffen Wiedemann, head of the Kochler police station.

Forces from the alpine police group, the mountain rescue services from Kochel, Benediktbeuern and Penzberg, as well as dog handlers and a helicopter team took part in the search.

Two helpers from the crisis intervention team (KID) were also on site.

The area was searched for hours, but the woman could not be found even with a thermal imaging camera in the helicopter.

The operation was called off around 11 p.m.

The search resumed around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Almost 30 members of the mountain rescue services and around 20 police forces, also from Starnberg, formed teams to walk the site, including three dog handlers.

In the morning came the redeeming news: The missing person was discovered by the helicopter crew in the area of ​​the Jochberg north face between the summit and the junction to the Jocher Alm.

"Because the rescue there was difficult, the woman was pulled into the helicopter with the winch," reports Ritchie Huber, deputy head of the Kochler mountain rescue service.

The 28-year-old was discovered by students near the Eibelsfleckhütte.

The young woman was taken to the hospital.
