The lack of staff is making things difficult for the bakery trade.
A bakery in Bamberg is now - out of necessity - doubling the trainee's salary.
Bamberg – The problem of staff shortages has existed in the bakery trade for some time, but it's only getting worse.
Also in the Bamberg bakery Matthias Loskarn there is a lack of back and front.
The owner of the same name tells
infranken.de
that the lack of young people also directly results in a shortage of skilled workers in his branches - a serious problem for the company.
His short-term solution: Loskarn doubled the trainee salary.
Shortage of young talent: Bakery in Bamberg doubles trainee salary
Trainees in the four Bamberg bakery branches of Matthias Loskarn can now look forward to a very generous trainee salary, which is well above the industry average.
Trainee salary year 1: | Instead of 675 euros | Is there 1350 euros |
Trainee salary year 2: | Instead of 755 euros | There is 1510 euros |
Trainee salary year 3: | Instead of 885 euros | There is 1770 euros |
In the first year there is 1350 euros instead of 675 euros, in the second year 1510 euros instead of 755 euros and in the third year there is a whopping 1770 euros instead of 885 euros.
"We are doubling the training allowance," it says in a Facebook post from the bakery chain.
The doubling of salary applies to training as a confectioner, baker and salesperson.
Loskarn does not know whether that will help directly, as he admits to
infranken.de
.
Because he believes that the working hours in a bakery are a particular deterrent to potential new blood – after all, these are normally between 2:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
However, finishing work in the late morning also means that you have a large part of the day for leisure, errands and excursions.

Facebook community praises salary doubling – and has questions
The announcement of the salary doubling made waves, especially on Facebook.
The bakery's post itself has been shared almost 400 times, and many users are pleased with the move.
"That's an announcement!
Respect!” writes one user, for example.
But some are also wondering what the financial aspect looks like after the training.
Hessischer Rundfunk also shared the report of the princely trainee salary in the Matthias Loskarn bakery in Bamberg.
With almost 400 shares and almost 1000 comments, she again attracted a lot of attention - and a lot of praise.
The tenor among the users: The higher payment for manual trades in general is high time.
"Finally someone who makes the start and pays appropriate remuneration instead of a drop in the ocean as wages!" praises a user.
