The protest against the legal revolution and the government's actions also reached Keren Hayesod, the main fundraising organization from Jewish communities around the world.

Wow!

It was learned that the heads of the Keren Hayesod in Switzerland sent a sharp letter yesterday (Sunday) to the heads of the organization in which they expressed concern about what is happening in Israel, demanded that the organization's leadership speak out against the moves the government is promoting and hinted that they are threatening the continuation of fundraising and donations to Israel.

"We are in favor of the people of Israel," reads the letter that came to Walla and was signed by the heads of Keren Hayesod branches in Swiss cities.

"Our mutual responsibility is not only in giving money. As we watch how this amazing vision called Israel is threatened and emptied of values we believe in and share. Our support is unconditional as long as the basic principles of humanity are respected and as long as Israel continues to be committed to the principles of a liberal system and democratic".

The Foundation is the main organization that collects donations in Israel from wealthy Jewish donors and supporters in Jewish communities around the world, and one of the four national institutions covered by the Zionist Congress.

The fund raises tens of millions of dollars a year which are transferred to various associations and projects in the field of education, welfare, immigration and absorption and more.

Senior officials at Keren Hayesod told Walla that "the fear is that the letter from the Swiss is only the first swallow in the freezing and transfer of donations to the organization and to Israel."

In the letter, the heads of Keren Hayesod in Switzerland do not refer directly to the legal revolution, but mainly mention the law on the death penalty for terrorists, which was passed in preliminary reading in the Knesset plenum last week as a "red line".

"We mourn the murdered Jews and also the lives and casualties of the Palestinians," the letter reads.

"But after the death penalty bill was passed in an initial preliminary vote in the parliament of the Jewish state, we can no longer stand by in silence. It was like a red line for us. This is not the Israel we want to support."

The Swiss Foundation members wrote further: "We have never asked who is in the government and what their agenda is. We support Israel because we believe that even if we don't live there, it is also our country. This is why we stand by Israel whenever necessary without conditions." .

However, they warn that Keren Hayesod's mantra, "We collect for the people of Israel, for the poor, for the elderly and children, no longer works for us."

They demand that the foundation's management, chairman Sam Grundwerg, chairman of the board of trustees Steven Lui and CEO Alon Futterman, stand up against the government's moves. "We believe that at this moment your voice should also be heard loud and clear," the letter reads. "We need to know, To hear and see that the organization for which we dedicate our time and resources and which was a major factor in the building of Israel, is loyal to its charter and does not turn a blind eye to a real and immediate threat to the basis and fabric of Israeli society.

We ask you to stand up to those responsible and convey this message."
