"begin disciplinary actions"
against prosecutor Carlos Stornelli, who
once again failed the Committee on Political Trial of Deputies
, which had summoned him for this Tuesday to expose in the process of prosecution against the members of the Supreme Court promoted by the Government under the auspices of a dozen governors.
"Prosecutor Stornelli has not appeared and has informed interim prosecutor Casal that he expects us to send him the questions in writing," Gaillard said at the opening of the meeting.
And in this context, the pro-government deputy announced that "Dr. Casal will be informed of the non-appearance of the prosecutor Stornelli and he will be asked to initiate the corresponding disciplinary actions taking into account the non-appearance."
In this sense, Gaillard insisted that "the only ones excepted" to testify in person are the president, the vice president and the governors.
In addition, the head of the commission indicated that she "would be violating the regulations" of the Chamber if she accepts that the prosecutor make a written statement.
The certain thing is that the rejection of the oficialismo so that Stornelli declare in writing provoked the reaction of the opposition.
Pablo Tonelli (PRO), who is also a member of the Judicial Council, warned that "the normative hierarchy of the Public Prosecutor's Office is far above the regulations of the commission and the prosecutor is clearly exempt from testifying personally in the commission."
"The ruling party has no interest in the responses of the prosecutor Stornelli but in continuing with the circus and with the show," added the macrista deputy.

But Alvaro González (PRO) insisted and unsuccessfully proposed to put to a vote the possibility of sending the written questions to Stornelli.
"I would be committing irresponsibility," repeated the president of the commission to reject the possibility of the proposal.
Stornelli, who missed a first summons and had to be summoned again as a witness,
sent a letter to the Attorney General Eduardo Casal
in which he again insisted that he was willing to answer the questions of the deputies in writing.
To support his decision not to attend Congress in person, the prosecutor appealed to the Criminal Procedure Code and the Public Prosecutor's Office Law, which exempt him from the obligation to appear when summoned as witnesses by a court.
However, this position is rejected by the ruling party deputies who insisted that this benefit is only for presidents, governors and vice presidents, but does not reach prosecutors.
That is why there is expectation for the decision that the representatives of the Frente de Todos will adopt this Tuesday in the commission and what will be the reaction of Together for Change, which in the last meeting had defended Stornelli's position of not appearing and responding in writing .
From the Frente de Todos they had already anticipated not only the intention to move forward with the lawlessness but also that they would convene it by the public force.
"If he does not appear, we will have to initiate an impeachment procedure to be able to bring him in by public force," the president of the Impeachment Committee, Carolina Gaillard (FdT), had indicated at the time.
Beyond the controversy over the situation of Stornelli, the commission will continue to listen to the statements of new witnesses in the framework of the process that was opened at the end of January against the judges of the Court Horacio Rosatti (president), Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti.

Why the ruling party insists on citing Stornelli
Prosecutor Carlos Stornelli was included in the list of witnesses of the process initiated against the Court because he proposed the filing of two almost identical complaints so that it could be investigated if there were crimes in the alleged chats between Silvio Robles, collaborator of the president of the Court, and Marcelo D'Alessandro, Minister of Security and Justice (on leave) of the City.
The argument put forward by Stornelli to request the file of the complaints (one of them presented by the lawyer Gastón Marano, who had advised Juntos por el Cambio in the bicameral Intelligence Commission) was that the elements cited by the judicial presentations could have been obtained through illegal espionage.
Judge Sebastián Ramos has already passed through the commission, who filed the complaint after Stornelli's request.

The notification for Stornelli to appear in Congress reached him on Wednesday, March 1, and there he was quoted the passage of the regulations of the Impeachment Committee in which it is clarified that his attendance "is not optional."
The proposition of the ruling party to summon Stornelli again was put to a vote in the commission and approved by 16 votes against 14 of Together for Change (JxC).
