On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, the Dietramszell volunteer fire brigade is looking for documents.

The celebration will take place in five years.

Dietramszell – The year 1873: Emperor Franz Joseph I opens the world exhibition in Vienna, in Frankfurt the increase in the price of beer – from 4 to 4.5 Kreuzer – causes riots.

In America, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis receive a patent for the first pair of jeans.

And in Dietramszell, some men from the village got together and founded the volunteer fire brigade in their community.

Documents from the early years are rare

"The Florian disciples are taking this anniversary as an opportunity to deal more intensively with the history of the place and the fire brigade," says Florian Neugebauer, who wants to go on a search for clues with the former commander and current District Fire Inspector North, Robert Schmid, and CEO Maximilian Koch.

But after such a long time, documents from the early years are rare.

That's why the volunteers are asking the population for help: "We're looking for a wide variety of reports, pictures and exhibits." For example, at the end of the Second World War there was a women's group in the fire brigade.

Neugebauer: "Unfortunately, we don't have any more detailed information here." Information and documents from this period would be important for processing history.

Not only the life of the fire service is of interest to her.

"We also want to know what life in the village was like back then," emphasizes Neugebauer.

And: "Anyone who can still read the old writings like Kurrent would also help us further."

Fire brigade organizes two meetings

For this reason, the Dietramszell fire brigade invites everyone who can contribute to the restoration of history with their knowledge and stories to the equipment house at Wolfratshauser Straße 5 at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 16th or Saturday, April 1st.
