Finally Josefifest again: this year it is offered in the marquee in Reutberg

For the first time, Sachsenkam's Mayor Andreas Rammler will tap the first barrel in the Reutberg marquee.

There are also other things that are new at the Josefi Festival - and a lot of tried and tested ones.

Sachsenkam

– August Maerz, CEO of the Reutberger Klosterbrauerei, had to wait a long time for this moment.

But from next Friday, March 17th, there will finally be a marquee on the Reutberg again.

Sachsenkam's Mayor Andreas Rammler will tap the first barrel at 7 p.m.

Although the mayor has been in office for three years, this will be a first for him.

The Corona pandemic has prevented the Josefi Festival in recent years.

"We were the first who weren't allowed to celebrate in 2020 and the last ones who weren't allowed to celebrate in 2022," says Maerz.

Hurricane threatened construction of the marquee in Reutberg

Last fall, the opportunity was finally taken and moved to a marquee in Habach, which had been set up for a company anniversary.

All canceled general assemblies were then made up for there.

This year everything is back to normal.

The construction of the marquee began last Friday.

The announced hurricane was looked forward to with some concern.

But then it was limited – just like the snow that fell during the night.

"Fortunately, it was reasonably comfortable," says Maerz.

The heated festival tent will offer 2200 seats.

This time the new landlord Franz Ostler from Mittenwald will take care of the physical well-being.

Ten days of Josefi Festival in Reutberg

There is a lot on offer over the ten days of the festival: from the Schafkopf tournament to the Isargau championship in finger hooking and the traditional costume fashion show.

The latter in particular was "always well attended," says Maerz.

"What's new is that on St. Joseph's Day from 6.30 p.m. there will be a free beer for all Josefs and Josefinen," says Maerz.

This year, however, there is no Wiagsog cutting.

There are already numerous reservations for the different days, reports the CEO.

However, it is not possible to reserve for every evening - for example not for the cooperative meeting on Wednesday.

The rule here is: "First come, first served". As always, only members of the brewery cooperative have access, after all, the "dividend" in the form of snacks and beer is always given out on this evening.

The speech by Lothar Ebbertz, General Manager of the Bavarian Brewers' Association, should again be good entertainment.

It remains to be seen whether other celebrities will come to Reutberg, says Maerz.

Among the members there are quite a few well-known names.

"It's who's who, as they say in Bavarian," he jokes.

Minister Michaela Kaniber as a guest at the Josefi Festival

Monday traditionally belongs to the dairy farmers.

At the BDM evening this year, the Bavarian Minister of Agriculture Michaela Kaniber, Richard Mergner as state chairman of the Bund Naturschutz and Manfred Gilch, chairman of the BDM state team, will speak.

Now Maerz is just hoping for reasonably good weather in the coming days.

"And to a decent thirst among the guests."
