PS5 Pro: Console upgrade in progress – Insider expects release in 2024
The insider reveals:
On March 14, 2023, industry insider Tom Henderson published an exclusive report on the PS5 Pro on his own website.
In it, he said his sources had confirmed he was working on the console upgrade.
However, this is not another version of the PS5 with a removable disc drive, which is also often assumed.
Rather, it should be an improved PS5 with better ray tracing performance.
According to Henderson, the release also has a certain period of time.
Expected release PS5 Pro:
Late 2024
Are the statements credible?
Tom Henderson is far from an unknown name when it comes to insider information and gaming leaks.
In recent years he has repeatedly shared reliable information about various games, including revealing many details of Battlefield 2042 before its release.
The insider also keeps coming back with relatively accurate information about games like GTA or Call of Duty.

So it's quite possible that there is already a little truth in Henderson's statements about the PS5 Pro, but leaks should always be taken with caution and a touch of healthy doubt.
The insider also explains that more detailed statements about the console are not yet possible and will have to be made at a later date.
PS5 Pro: Successor console should have slowed down the upgrade last.
PS6 should probably not play a role in the Pro upgrade after all:
Tom Henderson's statements give a completely different picture than in January 2023. Henderson recently stated that a new version of the PS5 should probably give way to the PS6.
It was said at the time that he had heard more about the development of the PS6 than about a Pro or Slim version of Sony's current generation of consoles.
His current knowledge seems to refute this assumption.
In the new report, Henderson now states that the next generation of PlayStation consoles will not appear until 2028.
The current console cycle should therefore be similar to that of the PS4, which also includes the release of new versions of the PS5.
