The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office recently submitted to the city's Magistrate's Court an indictment against Yaakov Cohen (31) from Ramat Gan for threats and violation of privacy after he filmed himself having sex with a woman he met on Instagram, without her knowledge, and threatened her that he would distribute the video. The indictment filed
on Lawyer Yael Harel reveals that Cohen and the woman who complained against him, a 28-year-old woman, met on Instagram and arranged to meet at his apartment in Tel Aviv.
When she arrived at his apartment, the two had consensual sex in the living room of the apartment, while a web camera he installed in the living room ahead of time recorded the sexual act without the young woman knowing about it.
A few days later, the two met at his apartment again, and at one point the young woman noticed the camera and asked him about it.
Cohen replied, according to the indictment, that the camera was not recording, entered the application on the mobile phone and changed the direction of the camera so that it would not record what was happening in the living room.
Immediately afterwards the two had consensual sex again.
Later that month, the two spent time in a bar in Tel Aviv together with the complainant's cousin and the defendant's cousin. During the evening Cohen tried to convince the complainant to come with him to his apartment, but she did not want to and left the bar. At this point, described in the indictment, Cohen called the complainant and demanded that she come to the parking place where they met at the beginning of the evening, and when she refused he called her repeatedly while threatening her that if she didn't come he would damage her car and spread the video in his possession.
Cohen was not satisfied and threatened: "If you don't tell me where you are, I will burn your car in the parking lot right now. Everything is being filmed by me. It will end really but really disgusting, there is no one who will not know who you are in the State of Israel, don't try me, I promise you, don't Disconnect and don't try me because the next disconnection will be the end of you."
