The body of a man in his 60s washed up this morning (Wednesday) on "Beer Sheva" beach in Ashdod.
The MDA team that arrived at the scene determined his death. The man, Naftali Edri, a retiree of the Electric Company, is one of two missing since Tuesday night in the collapse of the crane in Ashkelon
. The maritime police searched for two missing people who apparently fell into the water during the collapse. One of them is a fisherman, who was at the scene at the time of the incident and lost contact with him. Another person was rescued during the night in a minor condition and transferred to Barzilai Hospital in the city for treatment.

The police stated that "the police forces, together with the IDF forces, the fire department and the electric company, worked throughout the night in efforts to locate and rescue the missing persons who apparently fell into the water during the collapse of the crane, and as mentioned rescued one person in a minor condition."
It was also reported that "the police estimate that there are currently two additional missing persons for whom the forces are conducting extensive searches using diver units and means."
"I saw the crane leaving the place, the two company employees started running to the office building located east of the station," said an eyewitness.
"The security guard went under the table, shocks started in the station, which in a second collapsed into the water. The security guard pressed the two emergency buttons, which did not work. One of the sailors said he heard shouts from the wreckage. I ran outside and saw someone standing on the crane and shouting 'I'm here'."
