Munich – After two days of strikes in the public sector in Bavaria, the next strike has now been announced.
The Verdi union is calling for a "major strike day" on Tuesday (March 21) and Munich is expected to be the focus of it.
The unions want to call all areas of public service to strike, which includes tens of thousands of employees, including from the city administration, the armed forces, street cleaning and the job center.

Clinics, job centers and the Bundeswehr: Verdi calls for a "major strike day" in Munich
With the strikes, Verdi wants to negotiate better collective agreements.
Specifically, 10.5 percent or 500 euros more wages per month are planned for 2.5 million federal and local employees.
Employers are gradually offering five percent more wages for a two-year term and a one-off payment of 2,500 euros.
The third round of negotiations is expected to take place at the end of March.

A strike rally is planned for Tuesday at 11 a.m. on Munich's Marienplatz.
Until the next round of negotiations, Verdi wants to gradually increase the number of strikes.
The announcement of the "major strike day" came after two warning strikes at Bavarian clinics this week.
Warning strike in Bavaria: On Thursday, clinics are on strike for a better tariff
The first of two warning strikes in Bavarian clinics began on Tuesday (March 14).
On Wednesday, participation was even better than the day before, as a Verdi spokesman explained.
There were strikes at the locations in Altötting, Bamberg, Bayreuth, Günzburg, Haar, Kempten, Landshut and Nuremberg as well as Regensburg.
Warning strikes in clinics in Munich, Kitzingen and Freising, among others, are planned for Thursday (March 16).
Furthermore, Verdi has called for warning strikes in 17 of the 61 Bavarian savings banks, which is the first strike for many of the locations and employees.
The savings banks called up include the locations Aschaffenburg-Alzenau, Würzburg, Oberpfalz Nord, Bamberg, Coburg-Lichtenfels, Schweinfurt-Haßberge, Bad Kissingen, Nuremberg, Fürth, Erlangen, Regensburg, Neumarkt-Parsberg, Amberg-Sulzbach, Kelheim, Ingolstadt-Eichstätt , Swabia-Lake Constance, Allgäu and Munich.
