Paris-Charles de Gaulle continues to impose itself among the juggernauts of commercial aviation.
This is revealed by Skytrax in its 2023 ranking of the best airports in the world.
With the World Airport Awards, the British organization, reference in the matter, distinguishes each year since 1999 the airports and the airlines the best evaluated by the travelers.
And Roissy, which welcomed 57.5 million passengers in 2022 (i.e. a level close to pre-Covid levels), gained one place compared to last year.
It thus climbs to fifth position and remains the best European airport.
The top of the ranking is largely dominated by Asian players.
Ahead of Paris-CDG,
Singapore Changi
reached first place and overtook
Doha Hamad
in Qatar (ranked first in 2022) and
Tokyo Haneda
(2nd in 2022).
Often at the top of the rankings, the Singaporean airport should still gain in power.
Indeed, an expansion project is planned, with the construction of a fifth terminal.
This extension, which is scheduled to come into service in the mid-2030s, could accommodate 50 million passengers per year.
Incheon International Airport, in South Korea, occupies fourth place (it was 5th, a year earlier).
The rest of the ranking gives pride of place to European hubs.
The Franz-Josef-Strauss airport in Munich is thus in 7th position, while the airports of Zurich and Madrid occupy the 8th and 10th places respectively.
