Member of Knesset David Bitan of the Likud today (Thursday) called for a halt to the legal revolution legislation promoted by the government in order to hold internal discussions in the coalition on compromises and softening.

In an interview with Kan Reshet B', Bitan referred to President Yitzhak Herzog's outline that was presented yesterday, saying that "no Likud member can agree to it."

However, he added that "I expect Justice Minister Levin and Knesset member Rothman to take a breather and sit with us. There are voices within the Likud as well and they need to be heard."

Bitten has been calling for several weeks to soften the legal revolution, together with Foreign Affairs and Security Committee Chairman Yuli Edelstein, who this week boycotted two votes on the reform laws in the plenum and violated coalition discipline in protest of the ignoring of his call for negotiations. Bitten estimated that Edelstein would not vote against the revolution laws and would not support the outline The president, however, called for the legislation to be stopped in order to hold internal coalition talks.

Also according to the outline, a basic law will be enacted in four readings, the last of which will require a majority of 80 Members of Knesset.

Many officials expressed support for the outline and called on both sides to reach a compromise. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the outline and said that it "perpetuates the existing situation," while the protest leaders said that the outline "only recognizes the needs of one side." On the other hand, The chairman of the state camp Benny Gantz announced that his party supports the outline as it is, and the chairman of the opposition Yair Lapid welcomed the outline,
