Holzkirchen's mayor announced a "half-year of ground-breaking" in the main committee - and hopes 2025 will be a "year of openings" for the large-scale projects daycare, building yard, middle school.

Holzkirchen

– The preparations had taken a long time – now three major construction sites in the market town are picking up speed: The main committee of the municipal council has now been informed about the status of the expansion of the daycare center on Erich-Kästner-Straße and the new construction of the middle school and building yard.

The site fences were erected on Erich-Kästner-Straße last Monday.

Next Wednesday, the official groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Amalie-Hohenester-Weg, where the new building yard will find its home.

And most of the old middle school has already been demolished.

Completion of all buildings is planned for 2025.

"It's going to be exciting where it's fastest," said the head of the town hall, Christoph Schmid (CSU).

Kita Erich-Kästner-Strasse

As reported, the municipality had stopped the tenders for the extension to the daycare center on Erich-Kästner-Straße in 2022: Due to the upheavals in the construction market, not least triggered by the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, no offers for construction work had been received.

"The stop was right," Schmid now confirmed and reported that "competitive offers" are currently being received again for carrying out the construction work.

According to the current plans, the new building will cost around eleven million euros, explained Erik Stassel from the building authority technology in the town hall.

So the prices have dropped a bit: In December, the expected costs were still up to 13 million euros (we reported).

In the coming week, the first sewer work would begin, after which the earthwork would continue, reported RAM.

The extension will be made of solid wood and, if everything goes according to plan, will be handed over to the sponsor - Kinderland Weyarn GmbH - in January 2025.

RAM was satisfied that suitable companies had now been found for each trade.

middle school

The investment in the new middle school is significantly higher.

It is currently estimated at 45 million euros.

But currently it is five percent below the calculation from December, explained Martin Kulessa from the building authority technology.

The costs also include the demolition, which will be completed in March.

Masonry was only left standing in the western area.

This could be helpful for possible future development.

The master builder's work would start shortly, and the earthworks will start in April.

There could be vibrations, but the residents would be informed specifically, Kulessa explained.

Mayor Schmid then thanked the residents, who had not yet received any complaints about the demolition work.

The construction company also did a good job, praised the head of the town hall.

The middle school building, erected as a concrete skeleton construction with a wooden facade, should be completed by mid-2025 and go into operation in the following September.

building yard

The first earthworks have started on the new construction site area, which would be carried out in cooperation with an explosive ordnance investigation, reportedstassel.

According to current plans, the building yard, which is planned as a mixed construction, will cost around 27.2 million euros.

In the past, final agreements were made with the architects on the design of the foyer, for example, continuedStessel.

Some construction work has already been awarded, and metal construction and ventilation systems are currently being prepared.

Because there was financial leeway due to the recent fall in construction prices, two minor changes were made to the planning, Schmid added.

An underground cistern will now collect the rainwater.

"The building yard employees use this to do the watering work in the summer," explained the mayor.

And for the wooden facade, larch was chosen instead of silver fir.

It's more expensive to buy though.

Because larch wood is more durable, savings are made in later revitalization measures, says Schmid.
