(ANSA) - VICENZA, MARCH 16 - A mountaineer died and his climbing partner was injured today in the Small Dolomites in the Vicenza area.
The two, according to an initial reconstruction, were at Vajo dell'Acqua near the "Cesare Battisti" refuge at Gazza, at about 1,300 meters above sea level.
While they were walking along one of the gullies in the area they fell: the man, after a flight of about fifty meters, died of his injuries.
The alarm was given by the companion who was taken downstream by the Alpine Rescue, to then be admitted to the emergency room of the Vicenza hospital.
