In Lyon, nearly 200 police officers mobilized to bring down an important deal point

Severe setback for this important deal point in the Lyon area.

The Rhône public security announced that it had carried out a dismantling operation on Monday March 6 in the Tonkin district, in Villeurbanne, leading to 14 arrests and the search of apartments targeted as places of storage and packaging.

The culmination of long months of investigation in the context of a judicial investigation opened last July.

The investigations had made it possible to identify

“the 12 main protagonists of drug trafficking holding two deal points”

250 cartridges and two guns

This March 6 in the early morning, a very large police force was deployed with reinforcements from the RAID, the BRI, a half company of CRS and canine units from several departments.

The 188 officials managed to seize 31.5 kilos of resin and 2.3 kilos of herbal cannabis as well as 282 grams of cocaine as well as 90,000 euros and 10,000 Swiss francs in cash.

They also got their hands on two handguns and 250 matching rounds.

Four vehicles, four scooters, a stolen motorcycle and another stolen vehicle were also seized.

At the end of police custody, 11 individuals were presented to the investigating magistrate with placement in pre-trial detention for 8 of them and under judicial supervision for the other three.
