Loto du Patrimoine: discover in pictures the 18 sites of the 2023 edition

It is a rite which the territories hope not to escape.

For the sixth time, the Bern mission has unveiled a new list of 18 regional sites that will be able to benefit from the windfalls of the Heritage Loto.

Like the other years, it is a Prévert-style inventory, covering the diversity of French heritage.

With a "premium" to unprotected buildings which generally struggle to focus attention and find money.

Sign of a collective awareness?

For 2023, the list includes a greater proportion of religious buildings (8 out of 18), than previous editions.

Thus buildings such as the Abbey in Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye (Isère), the Chartreuse Notre-Dame-des-Prés in Neuville-sous-Montreuil (Pas-de-Calais), the church of Saint-Antoine-de -Padoue in Saül La Réunion, or the synagogue of Elbeuf (Seine-Maritime), were selected.

For good measure, the Mission has also chosen to focus on other monument profiles, such as Montmuran castle in Iffs (Ille-et-Vilaine), Colomba's house in Fozzano (Corse-du-Sud), the Roman aqueduct bridge in Ansignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), or the former Habitation Belleville sugar factory in Trois-Rivières, Martinique.

The Lorin stained glass workshops in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) is the emblematic 2023 project of the Heritage Loto for the Center region.

Dassault Histoire & Patrimoine, patron of the Heritage Foundation, announces support of 180,000 euros for the project.

These sites, all in danger, had submitted an application file, among 3000 others, to the Heritage Foundation.

Chosen for their ability to carry out a renovation project, they should each receive several hundred thousand euros.

Once rehabilitated, they should contribute to the vitality of the territories, one of the stated goals of Mission Bern.

762 sites have already received help

Since the first edition in 2018, the Mission has helped 762 sites for their restoration work, including 108 regional projects and 654 departmental sites.

125 million euros were collected thanks to the Games put on sale by the Française des Jeux, and thanks to special Loto draws.

To which were added a little less than double (100 million) in the form of sponsorship, subscriptions or public subsidies, the lottery allowing a leverage effect and local mobilization.

If the very principle of a lottery had made people cringe when it was announced by Emmanuel Macron, in 2018, - the figure of Stéphane Bern not being there for nothing in the criticisms - it has now settled.

According to the FDJ, some 2.5 million French people, including a number of occasional players, try their luck each year during special draws or by buying Mission Patrimoine tickets.

Although the restoration needs may be immense, the twenty million euros collected each year occupy a unique place.
