"illegal taking of interests"
and
"embezzlement of property"
against André Santini, the mayor (UDI) of Issy-les-Moulineaux, indicated Thursday March 16 the parquet floor of Nanterre requested by the AFP, confirming information from Le
Monde
.
According to the daily, the complaint of the anti-corruption association concerns the functional protection granted to the mayor last October by the city council of the city.
The Nanterre prosecutor's office had opened an investigation last July for sexual assault and sexual and moral harassment, following two complaints filed by a former chief of staff of André Santini and a former bailiff.
Aged 24 and 31, both accuse the elected official, aged 82, of facts covering several years until last May.

They had subsequently filed a complaint for illegal taking of interests in November, after the vote of the municipal council which had granted this legal assistance to the mayor.
As civil servants, the two men, currently on sick leave, had also asked to benefit from this assistance but André Santini had refused it to them.
Former Secretary of State for the Public Service (2007-2009) and ex-MP, André Santini (1988-2017) is UDI mayor of Issy-les-Moulineaux, a city of nearly 70,000 inhabitants in the south-west of Paris, since 1980.
