Finally, students can request the 200 euro one-time payment.
But the application was a disaster and caused a lot of frustration and anger.
Berlin – After a long wait, the time had finally come.
Yesterday (March 15) the portal opened, with which students can apply for their 200 euro one-off energy payment online.
After employees and pensioners received the extra money as support during the energy crisis last year, students had to be patient for a long time.
There was a problem with the implementation, because first a possibility had to be created by which the one-off payment could be paid out in a simple manner.
One-time payment for students: Rush on the application platform paralyzes the server
The solution then recently went online.
Since yesterday, students have been able to request the money on the One-Time Payment200 website.
A BundID account is required, which has been confirmed with an online ID card or with an Elster certificate.
In addition, those with access rights need a code, which they receive from their training facility.
Now that most of them had taken care of their BundID account and were in the starting blocks, the application should have gone quickly.
But the calculation was made without the servers of the One-Time Payment200 website.
They were completely overwhelmed with the rush of inquiries.
Students frustrated: "I'm looking forward to the payment in November 2075"
A number of those affected vent their frustration on Twitter.
While some do not have access to the website at all, others end up in a virtual waiting room, which also causes a lot of ridicule.
The digital waiting room then says: "Please be patient.
There are currently a lot of visits when applying for a one-off payment.” The waiting time is also indicated, which according to screenshots can be from around 10 minutes to an hour.
A user writes sarcastically: "Uncomplicated three hours.
Thank you Germany.
Then I look forward to the payout in November 2075.”

Other social media users report another technical issue that makes it impossible to fill out the application.
Accordingly, it is not possible for some to enter the access code.
However, this is a mandatory field and the application cannot be completed without the relevant code.
"That's exactly how I imagined digitization in Germany," says one user angrily.
Has anyone managed to fill in the required field?

BundID app also causes problems: One-time payment application becomes a stress test
There seem to be problems with the BundID app too.
A number of applicants are seeing a network error here.
“One-time payment200 is (as you might expect) an absolute disaster.
After almost half an hour, I temporarily gave up,” said a student who, according to her tweet, also had problems with the BundID app.
"But it's clear that you first have to use an app that hasn't had so many hits since it was launched.
Otherwise, anyone who is entitled to the money could simply apply for it," she continues.
The reactions on the net show: The application for the 200 euro one-off payment mainly causes frustration and less for a quick bonanza.
“You can see what a priority we students have in our society with the one-off payment 200 disaster: waiting half a year for a ridiculous 200 euros, setting up this ugly BundID and then hours of queues, crashed services.
Hour wasted, thank you!” complains an affected person.
