There are two detainees, residents of the town, accused of an alleged crime of homicide and presumably involved in another similar case that occurred in 2019

The analysis of the human remains found this Tuesday in a well on a farm in Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real) has concluded that they belong to the disappeared businessman Juan Manuel Isla, who was 59 years old when his track was lost on July 12.

The investigations that the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard has been developing for months, under the instruction of Court Number 2 of Manzanares, led the investigators to that place, owned by a well-known land dealer from Manzanares named Antonio Caba. .

Both he and a friend of his, in their 70s, were arrested after witnessing the discovery and are charged with the alleged crime of homicide.

In addition, it so happens that another resident of Manzanares, Jesús González, a good friend of Caba, disappeared in 2019,

and also after being with him immersed in an economic transaction.

Investigators and family members trust that the resolution of this last disappearance will shed light on the first.

The commercial Antonio Caba, 48, bought that dry farm in Valdepeñas shortly before the disappearance of Isla and put it in the name of a third party, specifically the other detainee, who answers to the initials GRE On Tuesday, the investigators of The Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard removed from the bottom of a cement well located on that property the remains of a human body, which they suspected could belong to the disappeared person, as confirmed this Thursday.

It was Caba himself who took them to the place, after having received a search warrant from the Court.

"He remained there, impassive, without saying a word, accompanied by his lawyer," say sources of the investigation.

He also did not declare anything after the human remains were rescued, when he was arrested accused of murder,

The discovery and identification of Isla's body could also serve to unravel the disappearance of one of Caba's best friends, Jesús González Borrajo, a 54-year-old resident of Manzanares, who has not been heard from since 19 June 2019. As in the case of Isla, Caba was the last person who was with González.

In both cases, the dealer acted as an intermediary for a sale.

In the case of Isla, of some land;

and in González's, some luxury vehicles.

Isla's acquaintances describe him as an "educated" man, "lessish in business", "separated and away from his family", but also as a "cold" and "trickster" type, "very clever", and with a "golden beak" and with great facility for public relations: "Everyone knew and knew him, and he had good contacts even among the Civil Guard commanders here," they point out.

The other detainee is a friend of his, much older than him, who had allegedly acted as an accomplice to hide the body of Isla now found.

A third person, also a resident of Manzanares and related to Caba, a decade ago "mysteriously fell into a well" where he was found.

At that time, it was considered a case of suicide and the legal proceedings were filed, according to police sources.

Of the cash that the disappeared went to collect there is no trace for now.
