Carlos Báez was removed from his position since he was "responsible for the integrity of the police station" attacked on Tuesday.

After the protest of the neighbors this Tuesday against the 6th Police Station of Villa Madero, in La Matanza, to ask for more security after the murder

of an Uber driver and the shooting of a radiologist

who was tried to steal his car, the commissioner was removed from office.

Commissioner Carlos Báez was removed and has not yet been replaced.

The departmental chief of La Matanza, Walter Fernández Mamani, and the commissioner of Ramos Mejía, Fernando Guzmán, are in charge of the police headquarters until they appoint a new commissioner.

The commissioner's displacement

"was not to give an answer to the neighbors"

, but was due to the fact that he was

"responsible for the integrity of the police station"

, police sources explain to

Clarín

.

Fed up with the insecurity, the residents demonstrated in front of the Villa Madero police station.

And they clarify: "The neighbors broke the police station and that should not have been allowed. The force's work ranks were intervened for not fulfilling their work. We investigate the work of the agents permanently."

What happened this Tuesday after 6:00 p.m. when the neighbors went to ask the commissioner for answers to various acts of insecurity is in full swing.

Given Báez's refusal to meet, the situation got out of control.

The incidents against the agency led to a case that was classified as "damages."

Prosecutor Gastón Bianchi, in charge of the Fiscal Investigation Unit No. 3 of La Matanza, tries to identify the perpetrators.

People reacted when the commissioner did not want to receive them.

For this, the judicial official ordered the recordings of the media to be released to determine who the attackers of the police station were.

In turn, when the television cameras arrived at Pedernera at 900 Villa Madero, the journalists and cameramen were also attacked.

The claim of those who approached the police station arose from two events in particular: the

murder of an Uber driver

on March 9 and the assault on a radiologist who has been hospitalized since Sunday.

The last man, Ezequiel, was attacked by two armed robbers who beat him and stole his truck.

Since they could not start it, one of the thieves shot him in the abdomen. The victim continues with a reserved prognosis.

Prosecutor Claudio Fornaro, in charge of the Functional Investigation and Trial Unit No. 1 of the La Matanza Judicial Department, investigates the incident under the heading of "aggravated robbery by the use of a firearm."

The scientific police worked on the scene to obtain the footage from the security cameras in the area.

So far there are no detainees.

While the Uber driver was shot to the head by a man who has already been arrested.

The crime occurred on the Uruguay artery between Convención and Boulogne Sur Mer.

The victim was identified as

Pablo Fabián Atue

(57) and his murderer, Juan Manuel Muñoz (27).

The attacker could be found thanks to the security cameras that were in the vicinity.

Upon obtaining the filming and taking a statement from Muñoz, the Justice ordered an emergency search inside which an 11.25 caliber weapon with blood stains was seized.

His arrest was ordered for the crime of homicide.

"Enough of deaths due to insecurity"

was the motto that was disseminated in a flyer with the call this Tuesday to claim at the Villa Madero police station.
