Use of 49.3 on pensions: "This government is not worthy of the Fifth Republic", stings Roussel

The government has decided to use article 49.3 to have its pension reform adopted by the National Assembly.


There will therefore be no vote at the Assembly.

After intense negotiations, the government finally decided to use article 49.3 to pass its pension reform.

The opposition was quick to react.

Fabien Roussel, the first, strongly deplored the choice of a forced passage.

“The Parliament will have been ridiculed, humiliated until the end.

It's a shame for democracy

,” lambasted the boss of the PCF, calling on the inter-union to continue the social movement.

And to add, with gravity:

"This government is not worthy of the Fifth Republic"

The Insoumise Raquel Garrido, for her part, deplored a

"democratic shock"

is drawn like a gun against democracy

,” scolded the MP.

Still on the left, the socialist Olivier Faure pointed to the president's

"whims"

after the decision of a 49.3.

The centrist Charles de Courson, who does not rule out filing a motion of censure, underlined

"the failure of this presidential minority"

.

The LR deputy, Pierre-Henri-Dumont, has already indicated that several right-wing elected officials could

“very probably”

vote for a motion of censure.

On the nationalist side, RN deputy Laurent Jacobelli pointed out the lies of the head of state.

The presidential camp hinted at the possibility of a ballot until the last moments.

"Emmanuel Macron despises our parliamentary democracy almost as much as the French people"

, regretted the spokesman of the National Rally.
