The Minister of Culture and Sports told 103 that he is disappointed by the President's outline but supports the negotiations - without stopping the legislation. On the possibility of holding a referendum on the legal revolution, he said: "If we go when in terms of information we have not done well enough, it is clear that we are not in an optimal situation."

Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar said today (Thursday) that he opposes holding a referendum on the legal revolution because "we are not in an optimal situation."

In an interview with 103, he also expressed disappointment with President Yitzhak Herzog's outline.

"I expected that the president's outline would be more relevant with the possibility of discussing it seriously. Unfortunately, the outline that was presented is not relevant, we have committed to reform and not to perpetuate the existing situation. We definitely need to sit down and talk, but there is no need to stop the legislation, we can talk while the legislation is in progress. If we stop the legislation, the chaos will continue for many months, so there should be an aspiration to end the whole saga in this session."

According to him, "The president presented something completely different. The outline he presented was agreed upon by only half of the country. We are also on the right who talk about our desire to compromise, it's not because we fear the protest of the economists or the lawyers, that's not what worries us. What worries us is the rift in the people , we see the difficult argument between brothers."

"We will have to make compromises but we will not agree to canceling the reform."

Zohar added that "Since we see the rift and the hatred of the brothers, we need to sit down and talk, because there is no way to heal the rift. This is the most important thing for me. If we don't know how to live with each other we will be in a bad situation. The state cannot exist without unity with Israel. We will have to make compromises but we will not agree to canceling the reform."

The minister also went against the position of a member of his party, MK David Bitan, who today called for compromises within the coalition, and said that the last election, in which Netanyahu's bloc won 64 seats, was a "referendum". "When you want to go to battle, go to it in optimal condition .

If we go to a referendum when in terms of information we have not done well enough, it is clear that we are not in an optimal situation," he said when asked about holding a referendum on the legal revolution.
