Dog or cat owners know it: their own pet behaves as if it has never had food - and often only minutes after the meal.
But some cats then know how to help themselves.
If you own a dog or a cat, you probably know it: That look, as if the animal has never had anything to eat and is therefore almost starving.
And that shortly after the daily ration has already been eaten.
Cat owner Amanda from Canada is certainly familiar with this situation.
But she probably didn't expect the vehemence of one of her house tigers.
Instead of using “the gaze”, the tomcat Guccie decides to take matters into his own hands, or rather: paws.
Andrea was able to observe and even record how he proceeds.
She then shared the video clip on
TikTok
– where she brightened up the day of many other users.

A slumbering kitten: is there anything cuter?

Kittens are popular photo motifs: their clumsy movements, their dreamy eyes and their handling of new toys are just too cute.

“I want to go up there, please please”: Kittens develop their innate talent for climbing at an early age.
Whether chairs, tables or cupboards – cats are magically attracted to raised surfaces.

The nature of a cat varies greatly from person to person: while some don't get enough of cuddling on the sofa, others are less focused on people and prefer to chase through the night.

Three cats are sitting in the yard door. A small "cat gang" roams their territory: cats have always been important housemates on farms because they keep the mouse population under control.
Mice are so undesirable there because they can contaminate granaries and transmit disease.

Kitten plays with blanket Healthy kittens usually have a strong play instinct.
Everything becomes a toy: blankets, boxes, shoes, socks, hair ties and, of course, the lids of drinking bottles.

Little kitten sniffs at woman A kitten's adjustment phase is often marked by uncertainty and even fear at the beginning.
After all, the new people around it are still unknown.
But soon the new roommate's curiosity will prevail and he dares to explore new territory.

Tabby kitten explores the worldA kitten explores the world: it's good if mum isn't far away, because the little house tiger's climbing skills aren't quite mature yet.

Cat does not get a second supper and takes it in its paws itself
In the
TikTok
video by Andrea (username: @guccieandlindo) you can see how the cat Guccie is running around on the work surface in the kitchen, stretching mightily and thus getting to the upper cabinets.
Opening them doesn't seem to be a problem for the clever house cat either, as the next moment he's disappeared into one of them.
Even when Andrea opens the closet completely and Guccie finds his head in the cat food packaging, he doesn't let it bother him at all.
First he throws this, then another bag (probably with treats) down to his cat friend Lindo.
Apparently he doesn't want to go away empty-handed either, but apparently he's not quite as hard-nosed as his peers.

"He loves to eat" - Cat Guccie often rummages through cupboards
Speaking to
Newsweek
online magazine , Amanda says that when it comes to wet food, Guccie simply loves food and food.
"He also eats dry food, but he's not as enthusiastic about it as he is about wet food." Lindo, his conspecific and a Bengal cat, is much more complicated when it comes to food.
Luckily for Guccie: "He likes to grab Lindo's leftovers." Luckily, the glutton is not overweight.
Is that because of his climbing trips?

cat in the closet?
Someone was probably not quite satisfied with his food portion.
Holders can prevent something like this with child safety devices, for example.

In general, there is no question that the two animals would not get enough to eat: "Normally I give them dry food in their bowls in the morning, and they eat it all day long." And that's by no means as bad as Malinois-Mix Bella finds her snack.
Amanda continues to tell Newsweek, "When I come home from work they get a portion of wet food and then another before I go to bed at 9 or 10 p.m." But Guccie just loves to eat and apparently wanted one second portion of wet food - and that immediately.
The fact that he climbs into the upper cabinets for this is new.
So far, the Canadian has only ever found it in the base cabinets.
“I don't need anyone” – the network celebrates the campaign
The TikTok users, thousands of whom have watched, liked and commented on the clip on the platform, celebrate the clever hangover.
Here is a selection of the best comments:
"He didn't even care that you caught him... 😂"
"An independent cat that thinks: I don't need a human"
"My cat also opens cupboards and drawers... 😂"
"I've had to childproof my closets lol"
"Caught in the act, Kitty"
"That's why my cats aren't allowed in the kitchen.
They've already eaten a whole loaf of bread - after feeding!"
Another cat, Theodore, is helping his canine brother get some snacks - pretty clever too.
In hiding and being inconspicuous, cat Larry could still become a role model for thieving Guccie.
Although, maybe he should orient himself towards a specimen that dreams more of foraging for food - and just chills at the same time.
