In the 30s zone, countless cars are flashed every day - but it is rather rare that a vehicle can only exceed this speed through "tuning".
When the police pull a tuned car out of traffic, they usually first became aware of the vehicle through unusual noise or special optical modifications.
And the fact that a car is flashed at 42 km/h in a 30 zone (by the way, most speed traps are in Hamburg) is not necessarily an indication of performance tuning.
In the case of a 73-year-old who was caught by a speed trap in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, yes.
"Rapid sneaker": 73-year-old is flashed with a "tuned" 25 km / h car
As reported by the police, the man with his Fiat Panda was flashed in front of a kindergarten in the 30s zone in the village of Neuendorf.
Although a speed violation of 12 km/h, as in this case, is not a sensation, the officials were still suspicious - because of a sticker on the rear of the small car.
This showed that the Italian vehicle is actually limited to 25 km/h - that's why the police spoke of a "raging sneak".

The suspicion of manipulation was obvious – so the officials took a closer look at the 73-year-old's "speedy" panda.
And indeed: according to the registration certificate, the third and fourth gear of the car should have been blocked - but they weren't.
So that means: The man could drive the small car faster than allowed.
And so the panda did not have an operating license - the police forbade further driving after their inspection.
The man now has to ensure that the Fiat keeps the maximum speed of 25 km/h again.
Catalog of fines: what fines traffic offenders have to reckon with
The new catalog of fines came into force on November 9, 2021.
If you drive 16 to 20 kilometers per hour too fast in town and are flashed, you now pay 70 euros instead of 35 as before.

If you drive 16 to 20 km/h too fast outside of built-up areas and are caught, you now pay 60 euros instead of the previous 30 euros. The same applies here: the faster, the more expensive.
In many cases - i.e. the levels of speeding - the fines are doubled.

The illegal use of sidewalks, cycle paths and hard shoulders by vehicles is also becoming more expensive.
Violations are punished with a fine of up to 100 euros instead of up to 25 euros.

Some violations would also be more expensive for cyclists, as the ADFC explained with a view to the new catalog of fines.
This applies when cyclists ride illegally on a sidewalk.

73-year-old flashed with "tuned" 25 km/h car - no driving license for a "normal" car
But the 73-year-old is not only in trouble because of the "panda tuning": because he did not have the required driver's license for a "normal" car, but only for a "25er", a corresponding criminal complaint was filed.
As reported by the police, the Panda driver was unfortunately by far not the fastest in the 30 zone: Another driver raced past the daycare center at 71 things (!).
He now faces a fine of 400 euros, two points in Flensburg and a month's driving ban.
