The events occurred on January 22, but it was not until last Friday that the authorities captured those responsible, including a 14-year-old minor, Said "N", nicknamed 'El Chapito', who has been referred to a judge specialized in adolescent processes.

According to the SSPC's account, 'El Chapito' and another young man named Luis Raúl “N”, alias 'El Ñoño', arrived on motorcycles to the place of the party and opened fire on the attendees and then fled.

“As a result of the attack, three adults died at the scene of the attack and five while receiving medical care at various hospitals;

It is not the first time that the Mexican authorities have captured a minor related to organized crime.

Army officers detained Edgar N. Jiménez, alias 'El Ponchis', then 14 years old in 2010, pointed out by the authorities for possession of exclusive Army firearms and participation in kidnappings, torture and homicides.

Edgar, who has been trained since he was five years old for organized crime, was sentenced to three years in prison and after serving his sentence he was transferred to the United States, since he had dual nationality.

Organized crime in Mexico has used children to integrate them into its ranks.

The Network for the Rights of Children in Mexico (Redim) has reported that more than 30,000 children have been recruited by organized crime.

“The average entry is 15 years or so, but there were cases of 12 years, 11 years, who had their first approaches to early organized crime.

At the age of 14 they are formally linked, they have what they call a payroll,” Marina Flores Camargo, director of the research area of Reinserta, an NGO that works with incarcerated people, explained to this newspaper.
