American Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said today (Friday) that "legal reform in Israel requires consensus".
This, in the background of the coalition's rejection of the "people's blueprint" proposed by the country's president Yitzhak Herzog, and the growing protests across the country against the legal revolution.
Last night the United States expressed support for the Herzog plan.
"We support President Herzog's efforts to find a solution that is in line with the shared democratic values of Israel and the United States, such as checks and balances and the independence of the judicial system," said White House spokesman for national security affairs John Kirby. This is the first American response to the President's outline.

Earlier, the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Schulz, also expressed support for the plan, which was planned with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Berlin.
"It is good that President Herzog is trying to prevent further polarization in Israel, a broad consensus must be found," he told Netanyahu at their meeting.
"President Herzog presented a proposal and we hope you will consider this proposal."
On the other hand, Netanyahu criticized the proposal presented by the president.
"The president's proposal was a great opportunity that was missed. It is not the plan of the people and I am not sure that it is the plan of half the people," he said.
