Decidedly, Ferrari has the wind in its sails.
No less than four new models are expected this year.
While deliveries of its first 4-door family car, the Purosangue, will soon begin, the manufacturer from Maranello, which has broken new production records, presented the latest addition to its portfolio in Marrakech.
This vehicle does not replace any model in the range.
It is a convertible version of the Roma, a GT which introduced a new line of models at the end of 2020, reinterpreting the sober and elegant lines of the 1950s and 1960s.

The particularity of this new convertible is to reconnect with the canvas hood which had not been used on a front-engined berlinetta since 1969. The choice of this system rather than a hardtop is above all dictated by imperatives of size and preservation of a decent boot volume (255 liters with the hood closed).
If the vehicle retains the silhouette of a Roma, the removal of the roof and the rear hatch forced the rear window and part of the rear bonnet to be redesigned.
Rear seats are well preserved but they are intended for young children.

The five-layer fabric top deploys or folds in Z in just 13.5 seconds, even when traveling up to 60 km/h.
Ferrari ensures that many customization options will be offered based on sophisticated fabrics and contrast stitching.

The engineers paid particular attention to passenger comfort, especially when riding with the wind in your hair.
In order to avoid air turbulence in the passenger compartment, Ferrari has developed an air deflector installed on the back of the rear seats.
This patented system is deployed using a button located on the central tunnel.
It works up to a speed of 170 km/h.
Maintaining aerodynamic performance equivalent to the berlinetta required a review of the geometry of the mobile spoiler.
Depending on the speed of the vehicle and the longitudinal and transverse accelerations, the spoiler can vary in three positions.
Finally, despite structural reinforcements which increase the weight of 84 kilos compared to the coupé, the spider, still powered by the 3.85-litre V8 turbo with 620 horsepower, retains substantially the same performance as its sister.
The launch is scheduled for next summer at a price slightly above 200,000 euros.
