A man has been left heartbroken

after a DNA kit exposed his mother as a cheater,

sending his entire family ripping apart.

He explained that he saw genetic testing tests being sold in pharmacies for an average cost of $80 and bought them as a sort of "joke."

He said that he brought one for himself and one for his father, without having prior suspicions of any kind.

However, he never expected his results to change their lives.

The 19-year-old said: "We received our results a few days ago and I went into the DNA relatives section to see my matches. At the top it was listed that

my father only shared 29.2 per cent DNA with me

.

"This didn't make sense to me since we're so alike, so it was definitely my father," she analyzed.

A young man confronted his mother and found out that his uncle is actually his father.

The teen later learned that he also shared 24.6 percent of DNA with his cousin, also predicting that she would be his half-sister, since cousins usually shared about 12 percent.

He added:

"I couldn't think of a genetic relationship to explain what I was seeing and had doubts about the accuracy of the percentages."

"The shared percentages are extremely accurate and highly unlikely to be false.

The only realistic explanation for what I was seeing was that my uncle, my cousin's father and my father's brother, is my father."

The harsh revelation ended very badly in the family.

"Reality hit me in the face like a flying bag of bricks."

"All the dots lined up and I felt a sense of loss. I sat in my room for an hour in shock and then a sense of anger washed over me. I needed some answers."

Without thinking twice, he showed his mother his DNA results and asked why they didn't match

.

"I asked her if she cheated on dad with Uncle David," she said.

The story was told on the Reddit social network.

“I have never seen the color drain from someone's face so quickly.

She looked dumbfounded and then she muttered

, 'What kind of question is this?

Of course not'.

"I told him everything: the test, the percentages, the DNA matches, everything! My mom fell to the ground crying, begging me not to tell dad."

He went on to explain how he phoned his cousin, actually his half-sister, to tell her everything.

"She ended the call screaming. My dad (now uncle) then came home and stormed into my room asking what was wrong with mom."

“I also told him everything.

She didn't say anything after calming down.

She left the room and I closed the door.

For the next few hours, I listened to my entire family fall apart outside my door.

My parents got into a heated argument and my grandparents rushed over to see what was going on."

My aunt-in-law and David showed up shortly after and I'm pretty sure I heard my dad and David get into a physical fight.

Total chaos.

I feel like shit, I know it's not my fault, but I can't help but feel like this is all my fault."

"If I had spent my birthday money on something else, none of this would have happened, but another part of me is glad to know the truth."

After sharing her story on Reddit, many users found ways she could try to save relationships between her loved ones, while others offered words of support.

One user said:

"Call your dad, make it clear you still see him as your dad, he could really help him

. "

Another user added: "The only person to blame is your mother and your 'uncle.' She and he are the ones who cheated and lied. You don't need to feel guilty for exposing her guilt."
