The witch hunt for excessive inflation and the trial that Mauricio Macri prepares for Javier Milei

2023-03-17T02:13:23.201Z

Cristina and Massa point against Pesce and Alberto defends him. The vice wants Tombolini's head and Máximo destroys Kicillof. In the opposition, the ex-President is torn between getting off or planting a bomb.

Cristina Kirchner, Sergio Massa and Alberto Fernández are evaluating a package of economic measures and the issue has already opened a harsh internal debate in the Frente de Todos.

This is a

tax cut committed to the IMF

that should involve a whopping US$6 billion.

The strong decisions under study would include eliminating subsidies to the upper classes, freezing funds for governors, cuts in public works, a greater monetary tourniquet and exchange measures.

They are not working on a devaluation jump, but on the implementation of

a sectoral export dollar

.

One of extension of the “soybean dollar” to other sectors.

The package is not defined, because the political discussion is not settled.

Hard Kirchnerism

once again proposed a tax on the rich

.

Massa wants to meet Washington.

He says it's the only way to avoid the precipice and get to October without a bomb exploding.

On Tuesday there was a hot meeting at the Casa Rosada.

Massa was enraged and confronted the presidential advisers: "Keep fooling around with the politicking, one day I'm going to send you all to work in public."

A whirlwind of words was generated and the minister concluded: "I'll break my asshole so the ship doesn't sink and you play stupid and vain bullshit."

Alberto doubts.

Cristina knows the seriousness of the current situation, but

the IMF recipe shatters her ancient story

of her.

She always gave priority to the narrative.

Máximo wants to break with the IMF and Axel Kicillof is delirious and intends to revive historical failures due to inflation such as controls and persecution.

The dismal inflation data for February unleashed a witch hunt.

Cristina insists on

asking for the head of Matías Tombolini

and -once again- she is enraged against Miguel Pesce.

The Vice disqualified Tombo: "He is soft and lukewarm with the price makers."

He has it crossed since he took office and takes its toll every time he can.

Tombolini used a particular argument to agree prices with the multi.

"Arrange with me, because what is coming is worse," he told them.

The cuckoo he refers to is the Cristina-Kicillof duo

.

Economic problems revived old stories.

Cristina also wants Pesce's head.

Without euphemism, she says from the Senate that she "runs the Central Bank like an asshole." The issue revived a classic: the fight between Economy and the BCRA. Massa is aligned with Vice against Pesce.

Both criticize his handling of the exchange rate policy and the continuous drain of foreign currency.

A memo accuses Pesce of squandering the reserves.

The text is conclusive: "He has to go."

And then he argues: "We paid 25 thousand green sticks of private debt and 43 billion of commercial balance disappeared and Pesce is only concerned about increasing the rate."

This Thursday the BCRA increased the cost of money by 3 points.

The question caused crosses between Pesce and Massa.

That is why the BCRA raised rates, but less than expected.

On the other side, Alberto benches Pesce.

In Olivos he insists that "they hit Miguel, but the attack is against me."

The internal debate over the measures occurs in the midst of a complicated picture, which has become dramatically rarer in the last week.

The perfect Storm

The Casa Rosada is facing a perfect storm: marked absence of dollars -U$S 20,000 million- and rising inflation for four months.

Above now appears an international financial crisis that affects Argentina.

Kristalina Georgieva questioned Massa about all this.

The head of the IMF supports the minister, because she does not want to cause more turbulence in Argentina.

Kristalina Georgieva with Sergio Massa.

The head of the IMF supports the Minister of Economy.

Kristalina and her bureaucrats have a lot at stake.

If Argentina explodes, their charges and perks for being permissive with Alberto Fernández are at stake.

Wall Street and the US Treasury question Georgieva because she never demanded structural reforms from Argentina.

The IMF has a benevolent attitude towards Massa.

But it did not happen like that, when Luis Cubeddu negotiated with Gabriel Rubinstein.

In India -Massa and Georgieva- announced the agreement on Saturday, February 25.

But everything took two weeks due to fiscal differences.

The mission delayed his return from Washington.

Later, the discussion forced 140 hours of Zoom and three secret meetings of Massa with Gita Gopinath, the influential Vice of the IMF.

There was terrible fever against the pension moratorium.

Washington technicians called it

populist nonsense

.

The IMF papers say that the fiscal deficit will increase by the reform and withholdings a total of 1.6%.

Massa promised to liquefy that additional deficit.

On top of that, the report by Emanuel Álvarez Agis fell like a bomb, who said that it was necessary to evaluate breaking the agreement with the IMF.

The document hit hard.

Some accuse him of being a snob and of promoting his future candidacy for minister.

Álvarez Agis seduces businessmen who sponsor him such as Marcelo Mindlin, Sebastián Eskenazi and José Luis Manzano.

He is distanced from Axel Kicillof, but the truth is that his proposal was aligned with that of Máximo.

Máximo destroyed Kicillof.

He prevented him from closing the act in Avellaneda and disavowed him in front of the militants:

"You are wrong, fellow governor

. "

The internal one is burning and that mess heats up the economy.

Cristina sent one of her chirolitas -Oscar Parrilli- to whitewash her chimerical plan.

She demanded that Justice exonerate her from her corruption crimes, because otherwise the next election would be illegal and therefore -they are already preparing the future- illegitimate the future President.

They also encourage

an irresponsible people against the Court

-and the Court building- in the March 24 march.

La Cámpora promotes the dangerous slogan “24, from the Plaza to the Court.

Enough of the Proscription”.

They say that the tough ones dream of taking over the Courts building.

The wishes of Scioli and Macri

The Front of All is in trouble.

Cristina does not want to be a candidate.

Alberto is not given the numbers and inflation complicates Massa.

Daniel Scioli's posters with his intention to run for president again.

Cristina spoke in December about the subject with Daniel Scioli.

El Pichichi told her that she will go for the presidential election.

Now the ambassador was also with Alberto.

Scioli would be a candidate and the President promised his support to the motorboat

, in case his re-election attempt fails.

Scioli heard from Cristina insults against Alberto.

And from Alberto reproaches against the Vice.

Mauricio Macri will return to Buenos Aires.

His close circle says that he will communicate his decision not to show up.

It seems more like the desire of some because Mauricio could have other plans.

He is enthusiastic and told various leaders that

"everyone asks me to reconsider the decision and that he be a candidate

. "

The PRO leader guards a bomb.

This week he will hold consultations with international leaders and wants to revitalize the alliance with Javier Milei.

Power outages in the middle of a heat wave altered the AMBA.

The Casa Rosada decided to attack Edesur.

In diplomatic sources they insist that the harshness against the company seems "confetti".

In many cases, old sanctions were raised and complaints were made to the forum.

That is why in Italy – where ENEL's headquarters are located – they believe that the offensive is due to something else.

The presumption arises from a report prepared by Claudio Cunha, the Edesur country manager.

In those papers it is said that the “show” of the officials aims to lower the sale price of Edesur so that an Argentine economic group buys it for “chaucha y palitos”.
