The vice president shares the stage with the leader of Más País in a week in which Podemos has urged her to close an electoral pact before presenting Sumar

In a week of crisis with Podemos, Yolanda Díaz and Íñigo Errejón shared this Friday a public event organized by the Ministry of Labor to present the conclusions of the expert commission agreed with Más País on the impact of job insecurity on mental health .

The symbolic image of the second vice president and the deputy together —Errejón, now leader of Más País, was one of the founders of Podemos and later left his leadership— comes at a time of strong tension between Díaz and Podemos due to the configuration of Sumar, the coalition that she promotes with a view to the general elections.

Although formally the commission of experts was one of the commitments acquired by the ministry with Errejón more than a year ago in exchange for his support for the labor reform,

“Politics is this.

Politics is about talking about people's lives;

It's not about noise, it's not about strength or pressure.

It involves working from different positions, but always complementary, and knowing that we have a common challenge, which is to improve the country”, Díaz thanked Errejón and his party.

"With this ministry it is a pleasure to work, it has not complied grudgingly, but with enthusiasm, with commitment and complicity," the leader of Más País had stressed.

Díaz and Errejón, upon their arrival at the event 'Work precariousness and mental health', held this Friday in Madrid.

Despite the fact that the event had been planned in advance, emphasizes Díaz's department, the snapshot took place at the end of an extremely complicated week for United We Can, in which the formation of Ione Belarra has publicly demanded the vice president to agree on the bases of an electoral coalition as a condition to attend the launching ceremony of his candidacy, scheduled for before Easter Week.

The parliamentary group, in addition, has exhibited its differences after the failure in the reform of the

gag law

, going so far as to disavow Podemos to the spokesman on the matter and IU deputy, Enrique Santiago.

And, finally, the formation founded by Pablo Iglesias has demanded visibility for its ministers in Vox's motion of no confidence, so that they can intervene together with Yolanda Díaz.

The image with Errejón, who founded his own party in 2019 after leaving Podemos due to the confrontation with Iglesias, annoys this formation.

Some cadres complain in private about the prominence given to the leader of Más País in this area.

The wounds are still open and interfere in any agreement for the generals.

In public, the party tries to minimize its impact, although Belarra herself wanted to enter the debate on the problem that the commission of experts is addressing, that of mental health.

Vox's motion of no confidence, Belarra said this Friday, shortly before the act, is a "good opportunity for the PSOE to look to the left again, take care of and revalidate that majority of the investiture and, for example, announce an agreement in terms of housing.

Or that law on mental health is unblocked, which is also so urgent.

"We already know what Yolanda Díaz's task is: to build that unity, and a political project that includes political organizations from our country," said the organization secretary of Podemos, Lilith Verstrynge, when asked about this matter. in RNE.

“Everyone is aware that in order to revalidate the coalition government it is essential that Podemos and Sumar also reach a coalition agreement to be able to run in the elections.

As always, we are going to bet on unity, ”she said, after emphasizing that they had not received a formal invitation to attend today's event.

"I imagine that there will be people interested in the subject who will attend," she settled.

The vice president, in her intervention, stated that they had invited all the parliamentary groups.

Despite the harmony between Díaz and Errejón, the image differs from that of April 2022, when the two leaders presented the commission together, joked about the good relationship they had — "I hope I don't get her into trouble if I say that I wish it were like that with the entire government,” said the leader of Más País at the time— and they even shared minutes of informal conversation with journalists at the end of the event.

On this occasion, the vice president and the deputy have left the room in a hurry, without speaking to the press.
