Poing - On Friday morning, a woman drove her car into a shop window of an orthopedic shoe technology practice on Neufarner Straße in Poing.

Fortunatly nobody was hurt.

As reported by the police, the 74-year-old wanted to park her Mercedes Benz B-Class on one of the parking spaces in front of the shop - she confused the gas pedal with the brake pedal of her automatic vehicle.

She was unable to explain why to the patrol officers, according to the press report from the Poing Police Inspectorate.

Instead of coming to a stop, the 74-year-old drove straight through the large pane into the shop's premises and damaged a drywall to a treatment room with the car.

According to the police, the damage to the building is estimated at 6,000 euros, the damage to the dented front of the vehicle at around 4,000 euros.

The no longer roadworthy Mercedes was towed away and the damaged glass front was closed by a carpenter as a precaution.
