Donald Trump says he will be 'arrested' on Tuesday for paying a bribe to a porn actress and calls for protests

He did it through the Truth social network. The woman would have received $130,000 for not revealing details of a relationship she had with the Republican.

The former president of the United States Donald Trump announced this Saturday on his social network Truth Social that he expects to be "arrested" next Tuesday and called for protests, before a possible accusation for a bribe paid to a porn actress before the 2016 elections.

Referring to a "leak" from the New York State Attorney's office for the borough of Manhattan, Trump, who hopes to run for the White House again in 2024, wrote in all capital letters: "LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, YOU WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY NEXT WEEK.”

Trump urged his followers to protest what is generating tension in the United States, especially after the tragic events that occurred on January 6, 2021, when the Capitol was assaulted by fans of the Republican magnate.

Law enforcement authorities in New York have been making security preparations in anticipation of Trump being formally indicted.

No timeline for the grand jury's secret work on the case, including any potential vote on whether or not to indict the former president, has been publicly announced.

Stormy Daniels, the porn actress who puts Trump in check

Stormy Daniels would have collected a $130,000 bribe for not revealing details of a relationship she had with Trump.

Days ago, US prosecutors met with Stormy Daniels before deciding whether to charge former President Donald Trump for a bribe paid to the porn actress before the 2016 election, the woman's lawyer said.

If the Manhattan prosecutor charges Trump, the 76-year-old tycoon would become the first former president to be charged with a crime and could hurt his chances to be the Republican nominee in the 2024 election.

The investigation centers on a $130,000 payment made before the 2016 election to keep Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, from revealing the relationship she claims she had with Trump years earlier and which the former president denies.

The actress' attorney, Clark Brewster, said on Twitter that his client had met with investigators at the request of the district attorney's office.

"Stormy responded to questions and agreed to make herself available as a witness or if needed by the future investigation," Brewster said.
