Ecuador seized nearly four tons of cocaine destined for Sierra Leone, Africa, in the port of Guayaquil on Friday, Ecuadorian police said.
The drugs, detected by a police dog, were in a container carrying canned fishing for export, General Pablo Ramirez told a press conference.
In total, "
3.8 tons
" of narcotics were seized, he said.
In Ecuador, this quantity is valued at approximately 7.5 million euros, but it represents more than 223 million euros on resale abroad.

We have prevented the circulation of 37 million doses of drugs
," the Ecuadorian police also tweeted.
Since January 2023, it has seized some 40 tonnes of drugs and arrested more than 2,500 people for drug trafficking.

" were seized, detailed General Ramírez.
