Fanchon (“The Voice”): “I was hoping to join Amel Bent's team since my first visit to the Kids”

2023-03-18T21:19:59.159Z

INTERVIEW – The singer, only 16 years old, touched the five coaches with her interpretation of the title Control by Zoe Wees. A performance that pushed Vianney on one side, Bigflo and Oli on the other, to redouble their strategy.

Thing promised, thing due.

In 2019, Fanchon participated in “The Voice Kids”.

Thanks to her cover of

Girl on Fire,

the teenager had joined the team of Patrick Fiori and had climbed up to the battles.

Despite the compliments of the coaches, spectators of the beginnings of a vocal signature, the young woman experienced her elimination as a failure.

This native of Ardèche had then sworn that she would return, from her sixteenth candle blown, the minimum age of participation, in the adult version.

On Saturday evening, Fanchon's blind audition on the title of Zoe Wees made the four seats turn around.

If the young candidate hoped to join the Amel Bent team of which she is a fan, it was without counting on the superblock scheme put in place by Vianney and the two brothers Bigflo and Oli.

Finally touched by the words of the pair, who used his ultimate blockage to convince Fanchon to come to his team, the high school student joined the siblings to continue the adventure.

The singer does not hide her goal: to win the trophy for “The Voice” and finally embark on a musical career.

THE

FIGARO.

Why did you decide to return to the adult version when you were 16?

Kerchief.

-

After trying the adventure with the Kids at eleven and a half, I had always promised myself to try “The Voice” again as soon as possible, 16 being the minimum age required.

Tell us about your blind audition…

I was very stressed before going on stage but, once I arrived on set, I felt like I was in a bubble.

Strangely, I felt the same feeling as during my first visit to the Kids.

I felt like I was reliving the moment, so I forgot everything to focus on singing.

I keep an incredible memory.

Why did you choose the title

Control

by Zoe Wees?

I have always had panic attacks.

The first time I heard this song, it touched my heart.

Without even looking at the translation, the title gave me an unprecedented emotion.

In the end, I recognized myself in all the words.

Zoe Wees talks about her epileptic seizures and it made me realize that you always have to manage to keep control over your body and your emotions despite my anxiety.

I knew I had to sing it on “The Voice”.

How did you react to Vianney and Bigflo and Oli's double-block attempt?

At first, I was very disappointed because I wanted to join Amel Bent's team.

Four years ago, I hoped that she would turn around but that had not been the case.

At the same time, Vianney, Bigflo and Oli must have really liked my performance to bring on this double block so I felt a lot of pride.

Why did you choose to join the Bigflo and Oli team?

Their words touched me a lot, but what tipped the balance in their favor is that they are at the origin of Amel Bent's Super Block.

If Vianney had done it, I might have gone with him, who knows!

(laughs).

You seem very friendly with Nour,

winner of the previous season of “The Voice”.

Did she give you any advice?

No really gave me advice but gave me more details about his experience.

She also told me that the adult version represented a lot of work but that our links with the coaches were stronger.

Is she right on this last point?

Yes !

I have golden coaches.

Bigflo and Oli are incredibly kind, very open to all musical proposals, super funny.

The contact is so simple, I'm really lucky.

Your goals for this twelfth season?

Like my friend Nour, I dream of winning the trophy.

This is my goal and I will do everything to achieve it.

What do you remember of “The Voice Kids”?

Whether it's with talents and coaches, I remember wonderful encounters.

I feel like I got the most out of the experience.

It's unforgettable.

What are the differences between the “kids” version and the adult version?

I saw "The Voice Kids" as fun, a summer camp, while in adults I feel that the stakes are higher, we are 100% in the work.

Surely because a potential career is at stake!

As for the atmosphere, I am one of the youngest in the competition, I obviously get on better with those of my age.

We are very close.

But “The Voice” is more of a personal adventure.

You are still a high school student.

What place will your musical career take in your studies?

I quit high school for the time being.

I know for a fact that I will resume and continue my studies but I hope to have a career in music.

It's my biggest dream.
