Agustín Giraldez was all the rage in networks after a photo went viral on his first day of school along with several ex-combatants. The emotional tribute to his grandfather.

"I'm crying" is the first thing "Betu" says on his

Twitter

account .

In the photo shared by the young woman from the north, there are five

Malvinas

veterans along with a child: Agustín Viraldez, 6 years old.

It is the first day of classes for "Agus" and the Islands are embroidered on his smock.

Betu was the one who did the embroidery.

Vanesa, Agustín's mother, sent him the photo so that he can see the impact of her work, which quickly went viral on social networks.

The story begins in

Mendoza

with Luis Gerardo Luna, a soldier of the 11th Regiment of

Las Heras

.

Luis died during training in 1983. Her niece, Vanesa Luna, was born in 1984 and although she did not get to know her uncle, she was always interested in her history in the Islands.

So much so that an "incredible coincidence" (that's how Vanesa defines it) meant that on a visit she made to

Buenos Aires

almost 20 years ago, she met Hernán Giraldez, another "malvinero" from the strain.

It is that Hernán's father, Mario, was also in the Islands.

Just like Louis.

However, it is not by chance that both Vanesa and Hernán had relatives who were in the Malvinas, but that Mario had met Vanesa's uncle during the war and remembered him as if years had not passed.

Agustín Giraldez, on his first day of school, wearing the brand new smock with the Malvinas Islands embroidered.

Vanesa and Hernán fell in love and eventually decided to start a family, which began six years ago after Agustín was born.

As Vanesa explains, "Agus" is an ordinary boy.

He throws a tantrum now and then, he loves to watch movies and play in the mud.

Three years ago he insisted that when he grew up he wanted to be a doctor to "cure the heart".

He is also attentive, affectionate and loves to spend time with his grandfather Mario, helping him with different tools in the yard.

"Shall we go to work?" the 6-year-old says to the veteran every time she wants to share time with him.

But one of the things that distinguishes Agustín is his special interest in the

Malvinas Islands

.

"Some people came to remove a piece of land that is in Argentina. So we went to fight and defend that land: just like when you defend your notebook, your pencil or your backpack. But it was not possible because (the British) had more strength than us."

This is how Vanesa and Hernán explained to him for the first time what happened almost 40 years ago to his son.

And when the boy understood that his grandfather was one of those who defended that piece of land, he drew his own conclusion: "He is a hero without a cape."

"We always wanted him to know our history. He is very young but understands everything. When he was two months old, there was an April 2 in

Vicente López

in which my father-in-law paraded along with other veterans. From that day we tried to instill these values in him," Vanesa highlights. moved.

Vanesa Luna and her son Agustín, one year old.

The print on the t-shirts: "Thank you, Grandpa Mario."

In the nursery, at one year old, she already had some Islands in the small backpack where she kept her hygiene items.

In the same way in the garden, where he wore an apron that his grandmother (Mario's wife) gave him, also with the Malvinas embroidered.

So when 2 weeks ago, Agus tried on his white smock for the first time to start elementary school at

Florida School No. 5

, in Vicente López, he asked that -without fail- the Malvinas be there.

The little overall that moved in networks

"I wanted it to be perfect, so I couldn't decide who to order the embroidery for," says Vanesa.

Finally, she came to see the work of "Betu" on Instagram and she was convinced that her son's apron had to be in her hands.

In addition, Betu understood that it was a special job, which is why he asked Vane to share the photo of the embroidery on his social networks.

The impact was more than expected: the photo of the overall and the story of Agus had more than 60,000 likes and 3,000 retweets.

And that viralization was only the first, since Betu later shared a second photo.

The overall with the Islands finished.

In it, Agustín was accompanied by five veterans of Vicente López, among whom was his grandfather Mario.

Together, they attended the boy's first day of school, not only to see what the Islands looked like in the overalls but also to hear him sing the anthem.

It is that since he was two years old, "the dwarf" (as his mother affectionately calls him) hummed the Argentine National Anthem constantly.

Today he sings it almost perfectly "to the screams" and is moved -especially- when he exclaims "or let us swear with glory to die".

"They're huge. Do you know what it was like to see those freaks in the act? Agus's face in the photo says it all."

"Malvinizar": a challenge for children and adults

Vanesa tells that for a birthday, Agustín asked his grandfather Mario for a Malvinas flag.

"What child asks for a flag as a gift?" asks the boy's mother.

The enthusiasm of Vicente López's boy for that particular moment in Argentine history is not imposed but has to do with a desire of Vanesa and Hernán: malvinizar.

After the defeat in the Islands, during the first years of the return of democracy, "demalvinization" arose as a reaction to all the controversies that surrounded the conflict.

With her, patriotism was completely lost.

Although the discourse has been reversed over the years, Vanesa and Hernán maintain that work must continue so that Malvinas is a topic that the youngest begin to understand and the older ones always remember.

"My grandfather defended them."

One of the shirts that the six-year-old boy who went viral on networks proudly wears.

In fact, Agustín's mother wants all the overalls to have the Islands embroidered by law.

She says that she made the occasional attempt but did not get any contact for the project to prosper.

"The Malvinas do not necessarily have to have a sticker on a bus. They have to be everywhere. As an Argentine, you have to carry it in your blood and talk about it with great pride, whether you have experienced it or not," reflects Agus's mother. .

For this reason, every year Vanesa sends special t-shirts to be printed for her six-year-old son.

"My grandfather defended them," says one of them.

Agustín -emphasizes- always dressed her proud of her.

Vanessa has been pregnant for three months.

Agus sometimes "responds" out of jealousy although he constantly goes to kiss his mother's belly and affirms that the future member of the family will be a boy.

Meanwhile, she assures that there will be one more "malvinero" or "malvinera" in the family.

Because for the Lunas and the Giraldez, remembering is everything.
