Norma Lizbeth died after being a victim of bullying because of her skin color in the high school where she studied in the State of Mexico.
She tried to ask the director for help but she was not heard.
At the end of February, her alleged attacker hit her and last Monday she died as a result of the impact.
The young third-year student was only 14 years old.
Mexican authorities arrested this Friday the alleged person responsible for her death.
Imagen Noticias reported on Friday that the alleged attacker and her mother, Magaly Martínez, fled to the border with the United States where they were detained by agents of the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office who, once the arrest warrant was completed, detained them.
For its part, the Attorney General of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) reported in a statement that it issued an arrest warrant against a teenager for her "possible intervention in the crime of qualified homicide"
of
Norma Lizbeth.
"The assault suffered by the minor resulted in a
head injury
whose evolution caused her death," said the Prosecutor's Office.
However, the agency assured that she executed the arrest warrant against the minor in the last hours of Friday during a search carried out at a home
from the Santa María Cozotlán neighborhood, in the municipality of Teotihuacán, in the state of Mexico (she did not say that she was detained at the border).

The Prosecutor's Office explained that the young woman was attacked on February 21, 2023 by a classmate from the official secondary school 0518 attached to the Normal de Teotihuacán 'Los Jaguares', where they both studied.
He added that last Monday, March 13, the minor, who was at her home, lost consciousness, for which her relatives transferred her to the Ignacio Allende Specialized Primary Care Center in Teotihuacán and that when she arrived "she no longer showed signs of vital”.

Alma Delia Ramos assured Imagen Noticias that her sister approached the
director, Elizabeth Hernández, one day before the fight to accuse her assailant but that
she did not attend to her because she was very busy.
Hernández was not fired from her, according to this outlet, but only separated from her position while it is investigated whether she was indifferent to the complaints of the young woman's harassment.

and her friends told the newspaper El Universal the same thing, that the minor was a victim of bullying since she was a child because of her skin color.
"He told me that his classmates

him because of my daughter's color, because she had her frills, because my daughter was pretty," her mother said with a broken voice.
The mayor of Teotihuacán regretted what happened and stated that "many parents are upset by the
bullying
that has grown in all schools."
"It must be eradicated," he condemned.
The Secretary of Public Education (SEP) regretted the death of the student and expressed its solidarity with her family and loved ones.
“This unit reiterates that the school cannot be indifferent or tolerant in the face of harassment or
bullying
: it rejects violence and underlines the importance of strengthening the values and integration of families”, she pointed out.
