MK David Bitan (Likud) said this morning (Sunday) that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should intervene and stop the advancement of the legal revolution in order to continue discussions on it. "I think it is time for Netanyahu to intervene, that is his role as Prime Minister, and order to stop the legislation.

We also have Passover, Holocaust Day, and Independence Day, there is no reason why this shouldn't happen," said Bitan in an interview for the "Seven Nine" program with Nissim Mashal and Gideon Oko on 103. According to him, the legislation on the issue of the Committee for the Appointment of Judges,

as Apparently the most explosive, you will not be arrested. "The Minister of Justice is not ready for this, but he is ready to soften the committee for the appointment of judges, so there is progress.

First of all there is an effect on what we say.

I think that the legislation should be stopped at the moment, for the simple reason, we need to discuss it internally and give it some time, maybe it really will be possible to reach some kind of agreed outline, even though the president made it very difficult to reach any sort of compromise at all."

Bitan added: "Even in the committee for the appointment of judges, the Minister of Justice and Rothman intend to make changes, but I tell you that it is not enough. We should sit with us, we also represent the public in the Likud, it is true that most of the members of the Knesset of the Likud support the reform as it is, but by and large , should also sit with us, not only with the leaders of the other parties. Likud also has something to say."

However, he made it clear that he will not vote against the laws of the legal revolution if they go to the second and third reading.

"No, there won't be a vote against. But I tell you unequivocally, just as the Minister of Justice expects me and my colleagues to support the vote on what is brought, we also expect him to talk to us and take our opinion into account."

The member of Knesset from the Likud said that Netanyahu is not ignoring the large protests across the country.

"He is very influenced. Don't forget, it's not just Levin's opponent, there are also the coalition parties, he has no other alternative," he said.

"He does not want to overthrow the government. He is trying to do it by agreement, but there is no choice. He is the prime minister, for now, not me or anyone else, and it is his job to see what is going to happen and to stop this matter for a specific period of time so that we can talk , both inside the Likud and outside the Likud."

According to him, "He is not managing the event because he is not allowed to manage the event, but stopping the legislation at the moment is within his authority, regardless of the conflict of interest agreement. He does not want the government to fall, so he is trying to achieve this through consensus and coalition compromise."

When asked if he believes that in the coming days we will see some kind of turnaround that we haven't seen in recent weeks, Bitan replied: "I think he has no choice and he has to do this act."
