It was a heartbreaking moment on live television Saturday night when a CBS meteorologist in Los Angeles passed out and fell to the ground in the middle of the morning news.

“KCAL News Meteorologist Alissa Carlson was about to start her weather forecast this morning when she passed out,” the CBS affiliate station reported.

"Our team immediately stepped in to help her while she waited for medical help to arrive," she said.

Co-anchors Rachel Kim and Nichelle Medina gave Carlson the pass to give the weather report before the mishap, video from the Saturday morning news show shows.

“Who's ready for some sun?

I know that I am.

Let's start with a weather update from meteorologist Alyssa Carlson.

She joins us live in the studio,” says Medina.

As Medina continues to speak, viewers see Carlson's eyes roll back before she collapses to the ground.

Kim lets out a worried cry before Medina says they're off to publicity.

KCAL explained in a message posted on the social network Twitter that Carlson was "resting and recovering."

Carlson thanked people on Facebook for "all the texts, calls and well wishes" he had received since the mishap.

“I'm going to be fine!” she assured.

Neither the station nor Carlson released any details about why she passed out.

The company said she will return to work "as soon as she is well enough to return."

It was not the first time that Carlson, who previously worked for KGET, the local NBC News station in Bakersfield, California, suffered a mishap while live.

In 2014, he vomited during a newscast, according to what he said.

He thought she had flu symptoms, but a doctor told her he had a heart condition.

“So I went to the doctor and they said, 'Have you ever thought about having a heart condition?'

And I said, 'Are you kidding?

No, I'm too young for that and I'm in very good health.'”

Carlson reported that stem cells from her daughter's pregnancy had begun to repair her faulty heart valve.

“My baby's stem cells had started to heal my heart,” Carlson said through tears.

"I feel like I owe it to the people, to everyone and to God to spread the story and help people realize that they may have something they didn't even know about."

It is unknown if Carlson is still suffering from the same valve problem and if Saturday's fainting spell is related to it.
