The municipality of Haag wants to control itself which open spaces will be used for photovoltaics in the future.
A key role is played by the country's own citizens.
Haag
– The municipality wants to control itself how and where future photovoltaic ground-mounted systems are to be built in the municipal area of Haag.
Therefore, the municipal councils decided in the most recent meeting on Tuesday to have a criteria catalog of suitable areas drawn up.
The councilors unanimously approved the award of the contract to a landscape architecture firm.
Mayor Anton Geier said that the rapid implementation of ground-mounted PV systems is currently being promoted politically.
The pressure on rural communities is great to advance land use planning in this direction.
Because the trend is also preferred to be taken up by large investors, it is likely that such investors will soon direct their desires at small communities, said the local manager.
They are primarily interested in making profits.
Possibly without regard to the landscape and residents.
Guard rails for investors - motivation for farms
But you want to be prepared for such cases, stressed Geier.
A landscape architecture office from Landshut should therefore create a catalog of criteria for suitable PV areas.
These regulations should show in which areas the expansion of systems makes sense and serve as "guide rails" within which investors have to move, said municipal councilor Helmut Leitl.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Another thought drove Geier: It might be possible to motivate local farms to invest in photovoltaics.
This would be an advantage for owners and the municipality.
The trade tax would then remain in the region.
And that is what you ultimately want to achieve: to leave the added value in the region, according to the community leader.
Citizens should also be able to participate in the solar parks.
The approximately 2,000 hectare community area is not very suitable for the expansion of other renewable forms of generation, Geier reported.
For example for the expansion of wind energy.
