Recruiting for the March-April batch for the IDF began today (Monday) and in the coming weeks, thousands of young men and women destined for service in significant combat positions in the field units are expected to enlist. Among the recruits are first-time female fighters in the Engineer Corps' Yalam unit and soldiers who immigrated from Syria, Yemen and Jordan.

Sources in the army say that the new recruitment for the IDF began without any unusual incidents on the part of the candidates for service in the security system, and according to them it is too early to examine the effects of protests across the country against the legal revolution on the recruits. At the same time, the IDF decided to postpone the "League of Cities" which examines the motivation for military service, combat service and officership in cities and towns throughout the country.

According to the data of the IDF Personnel Division, under the command of Major General Yaniv Asor, it appears that about 60% of the recruits are men, and about 40% are women. The youngest recruit is 18 years old and the oldest is 29.7 years old. The average age of the recruits is 18.8.

799 of the recruits are new immigrants, of which 509 are men and 290 are women.

The countries from which the most recruits immigrated are the United States, Russia, Ethiopia, France and Ukraine - which in the last year registered a sharp increase in the number of immigrants following the war with Russia.

Only one immigrates from several countries, including Syria, Yemen, Jordan, El Salvador, Armenia, Bolivia, Guadeloupe, Honduras, Vietnam, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Greece, Lithuania, Norway, China, Poland, Paraguay and Kyrgyzstan.

In the IDF, special emphasis is placed on the recruits who graduated from the preparatory schools and the years of service, who usually go to command and officer courses during their military service, and their percentage of all recruits is 13.45%.

From the various recruitment data, there are significant differences in the recruitment percentages between the various recruitment bureaus.

In the recruitment bureau Tel Hashomer, which is responsible for recruitment in the center, the percentage of recruitment is 35.24%, Jerusalem is in second place with about 21% recruitment, in Haifa 17.41% of all applicants for service are recruited, in Be'er Sheva 17.46% and in the recruitment office in Tiberias the lowest recruitment percentages, about 8% from the candidates only.
