On March 18, ARD showed "Roland Kaiser – 20 years of Kaisermania." But the Schlager anniversary show was not convincing.
The ZDF thriller Wilsberg won the ratings duel.
Dresden - Proud 20 years of "Kaisermania" want to be celebrated.
And so the first one showed a big anniversary show on Saturday evening (March 18) in honor of Roland Kaiser's (70) iconic concert series.
But the special did not manage to lure a particularly large number of viewers in front of the television sets.
In complete contrast to "Wilsberg", the thriller in the second.
Roland Kaiser's "Kaisermania" disappoints Schlager fans
In 2003, Roland Kaiser gave the first concert in his "Kaisermania" series in Dresden. Even the hit star, who has been on stage for over 50 years, could hardly have expected the success of this format.
The jubilee broadcast should now form the crowning glory of "Kaisermania" for the time being and review the greatest highlights of the past two decades.
But the show was anything but good for the Schlager fans.

“Kaisermania” is literally being panned out on the internet.
He "wrote the songs while drunk," says a Schlager fan about Roland Kaiser.
"Did he always sing so badly?" asks another.
The "awful" implementation of the performance falls mercilessly with many viewers: "Every hardware store and car dealership opening has better sound quality than here in Dresden."

The negative picture is also reflected in the ratings.
Just 2.56 million viewers switched on the ARD, as the industry service dwdl.de reports.
That's just 10.9 percent of the total audience.
For comparison: other hit programs can look forward to much higher ratings.
4.07 million people watched the "Giovanni Zarrella Show" on February 25th.
On January 14, 5.05 million viewers tuned in to Jürgen Drews' big farewell show with cult moderator Florian Silbereisen.

On Saturday evening, the ZDF crime thriller “Wilsberg” secured the ratings victory among the total audience of over 3-year-olds viewers - a proud market share of 29.3 percent. In the target group of 14 to 49 year olds, things look even bleaker for Roland Kaiser's “Kaisermania”. Just 0.36 million tuned in for the "Santa Maria" singer.
Even “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, which recently had to struggle with falling ratings due to the ongoing scandals surrounding jury chief Dieter Bohlen, is well ahead of “Kaisermania” with 0.62 million.

In May 1980, Roland Kaiser released his most successful single to date, "Santa Maria".
Kaiser explained about the creation of Santa Maria: “The two of us emptied a bottle of red wine when the title came about.
Actually, Norbert Hammerschmidt and I only drank it out of frustration, because our original "Santa Maria" version had just been rejected - [it] wasn't emotional and not romantic enough.
And that's when we thought: Well, now you'll get your package of romance, and we've taken it to the extreme.

Roland Kaiser is currently touring through Germany as part of his big birthday tour.
An unusual incident recently occurred in Oldenburg - thousands of people had to be evacuated.
