The Feyzin refinery was the last in France not to be blocked.
Last night, the CGT-FO inter-union decided to follow in the footsteps of the national movement by blocking the exit of trucks from 4am.
The changing of the teams was also not ensured at 6 am.
“
We asked for the shutdown but the management does not want it
,” says Jeff Vapillon, federal secretary of the oil branch of the FO union.
Concretely, for lack of relief, the employees who started on Sunday at 10 p.m. are still working on the site, for security reasons linked to the continuity of service.
The unions seized the labor inspectorate to alert them to a serious and imminent danger and force the closure of the refinery.
“
Employees who have been working since yesterday cannot stay there indefinitely.
Hence the request for serious and imminent danger
,” explains the union representative.
From now on, it is up to the management to decide whether or not to shut down the refinery and to the labor inspectorate to consider whether the elements are still in place for it to operate under acceptable safety conditions.
Operations are also underway at the Lyon fuel depots, suggesting a risk of future shortages.
“
It is not us who create this shortage but the government which does not want to hear us
”, indicate for their part the unions.
