Thailand: the Prime Minister dissolves the Assembly and calls for elections

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha dissolved the National Assembly on Monday, a long-awaited move that paves the way for parliamentary elections in May.

The poll, the second since the 2014 coup, is due to take place between 45 and 60 days after the dissolution, likely on May 7 or May 14 according to Thai press.
