Or Ascher, who was mortally wounded in an attack on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv on March 9, passed away today (Monday), after a week and a half in which he was hospitalized in the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.
Or was talking to his partner while getting ready for the wedding he was supposed to go to, and on the way to the place of the celebration he was injured in an attack with his two friends.
Natalie Ascher, Or's mother, paid tribute to him: "A light of a rare quality, who showered nothing but goodness, love and giving on everyone who crossed his path, went out today."
She thanked the Ichilov Hospital, Or's friends and the people of Israel.
Prof. Roni Gamzo, director of the Ichilov Medical Center, thanked Or's family for choosing to donate his organs after his death.
"Or came to us after prolonged resuscitation in the field which continued in the hospital and was immediately taken to an operating room where against all odds, the doctors managed to stabilize his condition. Unfortunately, the intensity of the injury was fatal and after a heroic struggle of many days, in which we saw an Iron Man fight for his life, we had to determine his death," he said.
Or's partner, Lee Menachem, heard about the shooting in real time, sent him messages and begged him to answer, but later found out what happened.
"I've never begged like I'm begging now - pray for the love of my life," she wrote on Instagram.
"In Friday's candles, the prayer of the whole country will save him. I believe that with all my heart."

Along with Or, two of his friends, Rotem Mansano, were seriously injured in the attack, and Michael Osdon, moderately-lightly.
The family of the lightly injured said that "Rotem is a beloved DJ who makes brides and grooms happy, he is a strong guy and we are sure that he will fight and we are waiting for his condition to continue to improve. We believe that he will return to make many more couples happy at events in the future."
Osdon recounted the night of the attack, "We were walking in Dizengoff from north to south, on the way to a close friend's wedding - and right at the intersection one of my friends who was on my left got shot from behind," he said.
"After that, the terrorist moved to my side and shot me from behind. I moved my head - and my cheek was hit, not the head. He shot one more bullet at the third friend."
