140 to Rishon Lezion: a special excursion route to the historical sites - voila! native

"Uri Ir": Rishon Lezion Municipality is launching a route that will illuminate the historical sites in the city as part of the 140th anniversary celebrations


The unique launch event will take place over two days and will be open to the general public free of charge.

The route, suitable for the whole family, will take you on a magical journey in time to the beginning of the first colony and will pass through historical buildings that will be illuminated alongside artistic representatives, impressive video art projections, scenes from the days of the colony that will come to life, musical ensembles, street performances and more.

A journey in time to the past: as part of the 140th anniversary celebrations of Rishon Lezion, the fourth largest city in Israel, the Rishon Lezion municipality will launch at the end of March a romantic historical route for the whole family that goes back in time to the days of the establishment of the first colony in the Land of Israel, against the background of the city's historic buildings that will be illuminated with unique lighting.


The historical-romantic route illustrates the city's rich history and its contribution to the shaping of the new Israeliness and Hebrewness.



The route is a walking route for the whole family, which will take you on a magical journey through time to the beginning of the first settlement in the Land of Israel.

The route includes, among others, the Great Synagogue, the Rishon LeZion Museum, the first Hebrew school - "Habiv", the bell, the well, the Beit Ha'am and other historical buildings that will all be illuminated decoratively.

The event will include artistic representatives, impressive video art projections, historical figures, scenes from the colonial days that will come to life, musical ensembles, street performances and more.

Along the route, historical structures will be illuminated with works of art and light, which will take us all on a journey through time.

Spectacular video art works will be projected onto buildings, along the axis of the event we will meet characters who will relate the story of the track and turn it into a reality experience in the time tunnel.

Visitors will enjoy street performances by musical groups, old-time games, folk dances in the streets of the colony and other experiences.



The lighting of the buildings along the route, the drawing of the route on the sidewalks along the entire axis, together with an application that was developed especially in honor of the launch of the route, will be used by visitors - residents and tourists - throughout the coming years and will upgrade the experience of the visit.

The opening signal for Rishon Lezion's 140th anniversary celebrations was given on the Tu of Av (11.8) - the date on which the city was founded. In its 140 years, Rishon Lezion turned from a settlement into the fourth largest city in Israel, and it will become the third largest city in the coming years with the arrival of about 100,000 New residents.
