– Train passengers waited a whopping 40 minutes on Friday afternoon in Dorfen for their train to Munich to depart.

The reason was lengthy negotiations between a passenger and the train attendant, as confirmed by both the Federal Police and the Dorfen Police Inspectorate.

The man from Sierra Leone was unable to buy a ticket from the machine with his 50-euro note.

He absolutely did not want to pay the two euros additional fee to the conductor.

He decided to settle the matter on the spot instead of letting the train continue.

And the passenger didn't get out either.

So all travelers had to wait for federal police officers from the Ostbahnhof, who could remove the man from the train if necessary.

However, the passenger then got out and officers from the Dorfen police station took his personal details in front of the station.

By the next train, the Sierra Leonean managed to get a ticket from the machine.

Such cases occur again and again on the 440 train kilometers around Munich, confirms Wolfgang Hauner, spokesman for the federal police.

The usual clientele, for example, are homeless.

"The cases have increased since 2015," says Hauner about the situation with more migrants in the country.
