The police are now publicly looking for the alleged perpetrator.

Münster – After a deadly argument broke out on Saturday (March 18) at the Send folk festival in Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia, in which a 31-year-old father was stabbed to death, the police now have a first concrete suspicion regarding the identity of the alleged perpetrator.

With a mug shot, the investigators are now looking publicly for a 21-year-old man from Münster who is currently on the run and who is said to be the attacker.

Münster: Witness references and video material lead investigators to the trail of the 21-year-old

Several witnesses and incriminating video material had led the officers to the police known Yevgeni A.

According to the Münster police, the man is an urgent suspect.

A judge therefore issued an arrest warrant against him on suspicion of murder on Monday evening (March 21).

During a search of the apartment the same evening, the man was not found at home.

The fatal incident occurred on Saturday evening at the Send folk festival on a carousel.

Apparently, the two men got into an argument, whereupon the 21-year-old wanted stabbed the 31-year-old from Münster with a knife.

Despite immediate resuscitation measures, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

"The autopsy of the body showed that the 31-year-old received a stab in the heart and died due to blood loss," said senior public prosecutor Martin Botzenhardt, according to a statement from the Münster police.

"No other stab wounds were found." According to Botzenhardt, there are currently no indications that the man from Münster who was killed provoked a dispute.

The folk festival was canceled on Saturday evening after the fact and ended a day earlier than planned.

The suspect was accompanied by another man at the festival - he is not a suspect

A homicide commission then began the investigation “at high pressure”, as the Münster public prosecutor explained to the

German Press Agency (dpa)

on Monday.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was accompanied by another man at the folk festival.

The two men fled together after the crime.

The second man is therefore the 24-year-old brother of the alleged perpetrator.

Apparently, there were initially specific clues about the second man, which in turn led the investigators to the suspect, reported

.

"The evaluation of the video sequences, on which the perpetrator can also be identified, confirmed our suspicions," reported chief inspector Frank Schneemann, head of the homicide squad, on Tuesday, according to a police report.

According to the investigators, there is no suspicion against the companion.

However, since he is an “important witness to what happened”, a search is also being made for him.

"Thanks to their meticulous work, the investigators succeeded very quickly in identifying the suspect.

The public search now serves to determine the whereabouts of the accused.

Now it's a matter of arresting him," said senior public prosecutor Botzenhardt, according to a police report dated March 21.

That is why the decision has now been made for a public manhunt with pictures of the suspect.

The wanted person is a Kazakh citizen.

According to dpa,

he should

be slim and have dark blonde, short hair.

He was wearing light gray sweatpants and a light gray hoodie at the time of the crime.
