Anton from Küps can now go shopping with his mum again.

The nine-year-old with Down syndrome no longer fits in the child seat of the shopping trolley.

Now there is an alternative.

Küps – The Rewe supermarket in Küps in the district of Kronach has provided a special shopping trolley for its little shopper Anton.

"So that you can shop with your mum in peace with us, we have provided you with a special speedster!" writes Rewe Savic Küps on his Facebook page.

Rewe branch manager gets involved: A special shopping trolley for Anton arrives

Anton is nine years old and has Down Syndrome.

He loves to go shopping with his mom.

The nine-year-old is now too big for the child seat on the shopping trolley.

However, the lively and bright boy needs a permanent seat.

Therefore, mother Nicole Langguth contacted the head of the Rewe supermarket in Küps in the Kronach district.

Rade Savic immediately looked for a solution and contacted the shopping trolley wholesaler.

A special shopping cart for Anton is needed.

Relaxed shopping for Mama Nicole and a happy Anton

The large car dealer has a number of models in its range – including a handicapped-accessible shopping trolley for Anton.

The shopping lover needs a permanent seat in a shopping cart.

Mama Nicole Langguth can go shopping "without worrying about which rows of shelves the 'little whirlwind'" is currently on.

The new shopping trolley for Anton is perfectly equipped.

The seat pad is comfortable and there is a seat belt.

With the additional fifth wheel, the trolley can be steered more easily through the supermarket aisles.

One wheel has an extra brake.

No continuous crossbar obstructs the field of vision, because the push handles are on the side.

Living inclusion in the Rewe supermarket

Anton's car cost almost 400 euros, about three times as much as a simple shopping cart.

The cost was worth it to Rade Savic.

"

I'm grateful to Nicole, I haven't been aware of this until now!", says the branch manager in an interview with

.

"We love Anton," writes the supermarket on Facebook

Mother Nicole calls Savic's commitment "lived inclusion".

The wheelchair-accessible shopping trolley makes everyday life a bit easier for her and probably also for many other parents.

The news got around quickly, according to the 45-year-old.

There is a lot of positive feedback.

The campaign could be an inspiration for other supermarkets.

So far she only knows the one from Küps.

Langmuth also remarked to our editorial team: "There should be more people who 'just do things' without asking questions or beating around the bush." Sometimes it's very easy to do something good with little effort.
