The city recently informed the Minister of Education about the future of the Lederer middle school.
Geretsried – The future of the middle school on Adalbert-Stifter-Straße is sealed: 28 classes can be accommodated at the school center.
The fifth to ninth graders are moving there from the Karl-Lederer-Haus.
It is unclear what will happen next with the building in which classes are currently taking place.
During the visit of Minister of Education Michael Piazolo and leader of the Free Voters group Florian Striebl to the Lederer School last week, Mayor Michael Müller, his deputy Sonja Frank and City Planning Officer Rainer Goldstein drew a vision.

They presented their concept for a "Leather Learning Center" on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Strasse.
Roughly summarized, educational offers for all age groups, childcare facilities and training rooms for educators and teachers are to be created under one roof.
Müller emphasized that the Lederer learning center is still just an idea.
On the other hand, the many individual projects that are to be housed there sound very concrete: rooms are constantly being sought for all-day care for primary school children, while some are becoming available in the middle school building.
In addition, a daycare center with a preschool group could be given premises to meet the high demand for daycare places.
Sonja Frank thought this idea was charming.

Supervision, German courses, parent classes and more: Geretsried plans to reuse the middle school building
Geretsried is a refugee town - that's how the municipality was founded in the first place, as Müller explained to state politicians.
The city is still dealing with the issue today.
In the LLZ - the Lederer Learning Center - German classes could be taught, language courses could take place and so-called parent classes could use rooms.
These are mothers and (albeit much less frequently) fathers of school children who are learning German while their children are doing the same at school.
For children of foreign origin, the city could imagine language courses in their mother tongue on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Strasse - especially in terms of writing.
"That's crucial," said Frank.
"Also for their later education." Many children could understand and speak the language of their parents - but would never have learned to write it.
The adult education center could also hold courses in the existing middle school building.
In addition, Sonja Frank pushed it afterwards, internal further training or practice hours by teachers could be accommodated in the school building.

According to the head of the town hall, Müller, the center is about bringing together many educational opportunities that go beyond mere school lessons.
It makes sense to combine the middle school spatially on Adalbert-Stifter-Strasse.
"But it makes just as much sense to continue using the building here."

"It's a well thought-out concept." The minister was not yet able to promise support for the plans, but emphasized that the tasks in education policy cannot be accomplished by one actor - state, state or municipality - alone.
"We can only do it together," he said on the sidelines of the appointment at the middle school.
